YOUR LIVER DOES MORE THAN “DETOX” 🧬

We often look at the liver as a central hub for whole-body health — not simply an organ that “detoxes.”

Your liver works around the clock to:

✨ Process hormones
The liver helps metabolise and clear hormones such as oestrogen. Healthy hormone metabolism depends on many factors, including liver function, gut health and adequate nutrient availability.

✨ Support blood sugar balance
The liver stores and releases glucose and plays an important role in maintaining stable blood sugar between meals.

✨ Process medications & substances
Many medications, alcohol and other compounds are metabolised by the liver before they can be eliminated.

✨ Manage fats & cholesterol
The liver produces and processes cholesterol, bile and many of the proteins involved in lipid metabolism.

✨ Support digestion
Bile, produced by the liver and stored in the gallbladder, is essential for digesting and absorbing dietary fats.

✨ Work with the gut
The liver and gastrointestinal tract are closely connected through the gut–liver axis. What happens in the gut can influence the liver — and vice versa.

So what does this mean?
Instead of asking only, “How do we detox the liver?” we can ask:

🌿 Are you eating enough protein and micronutrients?
🌿 Is your digestion functioning well?
🌿 Are you having regular bowel movements?
🌿 How is your blood sugar regulation?
🌿 What is your alcohol and medication exposure?
🌿 Are there metabolic or hormonal factors that need attention?

Your liver doesn't necessarily need a “detox.”
It needs the right conditions to do the job it was designed to do.

The goal isn't to “cleanse” the liver — it's to support healthy liver function as part of the bigger picture.

INFERTILITY ISN’T JUST A FEMALE ISSUE.

When couples struggle to conceive, the focus often falls almost entirely on the woman.

But male factors are involved in around half of infertility cases, either as the sole factor or together with female factors.

That means fertility is a couple’s health conversation — not just a woman’s. 🤍

Male fertility can be influenced by factors such as:
• S***m count and concentration
• S***m motility
• S***m morphology
• Hormonal health
• Varicocele and other reproductive conditions
• Smoking, alcohol and recreational drug use
• Weight, metabolic health and nutrition
• Heat exposure
• Certain medications
• Previous infections or illness
• Age and lifestyle factors

And importantly, a normal semen analysis doesn’t necessarily tell the whole story — fertility is more complex than a single number.

If you’re trying to conceive, investigating both partners early can help identify potential factors and avoid placing all the responsibility on one person.

Because fertility is a team effort.
👫 Two people. One fertility journey.

If you’re having difficulty conceiving, speak with a qualified healthcare professional about an appropriate fertility assessment for both partners.

3 THINGS EVERY PATIENT SHOULD KNOW ABOUT TAKING ACCOUNTABILITY FOR THEIR HEALTH 🌿

Your practitioner can guide you, educate you and help you understand what your body may be communicating.

But your health journey doesn’t stop when you leave the consultation room.

1. Your health is a partnership 🤝
A practitioner can provide knowledge, testing, treatment options and guidance — but you are the person living in your body every day.

The most effective healthcare happens when practitioner and patient work together.

2. Small daily choices matter
Your sleep, nutrition, movement, stress management, relationships and lifestyle habits can all influence how you feel.

You don't need to change everything overnight.

Consistent, realistic changes often matter more than trying to be perfect.

3. Ask questions. Be curious. Take ownership.
Don't be afraid to ask:
“Why are we doing this?”
“What is my body telling us?”
“What can I do differently?”
“How will we know if this is working?”

Understanding your health gives you the confidence to become an active participant in your care — rather than simply waiting for someone else to fix the problem.

Your practitioner is the guide.
But you are the driver. 🚗

Healthcare works best when patients are informed, engaged and willing to take an active role in their own health.

🌿 NATURE HEALS. THE PRACTITIONER GUIDES.

Iridology begins with observation.

The iris can offer a fascinating window into patterns, constitutional characteristics and areas we may want to explore more deeply.

But it isn’t about diagnosing disease from the eye.

It’s about looking, listening and connecting the dots. 👁️🌿

The practitioner’s role is to take what they observe alongside your health history, symptoms, lifestyle and individual needs — and use that information to guide a more personalised approach.

Because there is no one-size-fits-all path to wellbeing.

🌱 Nature provides the support.
👁️ Iridology helps us observe patterns.
🤍 The practitioner provides the guidance.
✨ And your body has an incredible capacity for balance and restoration.

Sometimes, the most powerful approach isn’t doing more.

It’s learning to understand your body better — and giving it the support it needs.

Nature heals. The practitioner guides. You are an active part of the process.

“Exercise gives you energy.”

Okay… but you need energy to exercise. 🤨
Sounds like a pyramid scheme to me. 😂
You’re tired →
You’re told to exercise →
You exercise →
Apparently you get more energy →
So now you need to exercise again tomorrow.

WHO IS RUNNING THIS SCAM? 😂

But honestly… there’s some truth behind the joke.

When you’re exhausted, overwhelmed or running on empty, being told to “just exercise more” can feel completely unrealistic.

And sometimes the answer isn’t more discipline.

It’s asking why your energy is so low in the first place.
Sleep.
Stress.
Nutrition.
Iron status.
Hormones.
Mental health.
Recovery.

And yes — movement, when your body actually has the capacity for it.

You don’t have to go from “I can barely function” → “5am HIIT class.”

Sometimes the win is a 10-minute walk.
Sometimes it’s stretching.
Sometimes it’s resting.

Movement should support your energy — not become another thing that drains it. 🤍

Hormone Cheat Sheet 🧬✨

Your hormones don’t work in isolation — they work as a team. Here’s your quick cheat sheet:

🌸 Oestrogen
Think: growth, mood & cycles
Supports the menstrual cycle, bone health, skin and cardiovascular health.

🌙 Progesterone
Think: calm, balance & pregnancy support
Rises after ovulation and helps regulate the menstrual cycle, sleep and mood.

⚡ Testosterone
Think: drive & vitality
Important for libido, muscle strength, energy, motivation and overall wellbeing — yes, for women too!

🦋 Thyroid hormones (T3 & T4)
Think: metabolism
Influence energy, body temperature, metabolism, digestion and heart rate.

🔥 Cortisol
Think: stress & survival
Helps regulate blood sugar, blood pressure, inflammation and your response to stress.

💗 Insulin
Think: blood sugar control
Helps move glucose from your bloodstream into your cells to be used for energy.

The important part? It’s not always about one “bad” or “low” hormone. Hormones interact with one another, and symptoms need to be looked at in the context of the whole person.

Save this for your next hormone-health conversation! 💾

Random Supplements or Targeted Support? 🌿

More supplements don’t necessarily mean better health.

It’s easy to fall into the trap of taking a little bit of everything — magnesium, zinc, vitamin D, probiotics, adaptogens, herbs… and before you know it, you have an entire cupboard full of supplements but no clear idea what you actually need.

The better question is: what is your body asking for?
Targeted supplementation starts with understanding why you’re experiencing a particular symptom or imbalance.

✨ Looking at your symptoms and health history
✨ Identifying nutritional gaps and potential underlying factors
✨ Considering your individual needs, lifestyle and goals
✨ Choosing supplements that have a clear purpose
✨ Reviewing your progress rather than taking everything indefinitely

Supplements should support a plan, not become the plan.

Your body is individual — your supplementation should be too. 🤍

Less guessing. More intention. More targeted support.

🌿 If you’re taking multiple supplements and aren’t sure whether they’re actually working for you, it may be time to reassess your approach.

3 Health Habits I Wish More People Took Seriously 🌿

1. Don’t wait until you’re exhausted to rest.
Rest isn’t something you earn after you’ve done everything on your list. Your body needs recovery before it reaches burnout.

2. Stop chasing every new health trend.
You don’t need 15 supplements, a complicated morning routine and a cupboard full of powders. Start with the basics — and make sure what you’re taking actually has a reason behind it.

3. Pay attention to patterns, not isolated symptoms.
Headaches, bloating, poor sleep, mood changes, cravings or fatigue may seem unrelated — but sometimes the pattern tells you much more than any single symptom.

✨ Your body is constantly giving you information.
The goal isn’t to obsess over every symptom. It’s to become better at noticing what is normal for you — and recognising when something has changed.

Your health doesn’t need to be complicated.

It needs to be individualised. 🤍

What is the Collarette in Iridology? 👁️

One of the most important structures we observe in the iris is called the collarette.

The collarette is the circular line that surrounds the pupil and separates the digestive zone from the rest of the iris. It is often referred to as the autonomic nerve wreath because it reflects the relationship between the autonomic nervous system and the digestive tract.

In Iridology, we assess the collarette for clues about:
🌿 Digestive function
🌿 Gut health and nutrient absorption
🌿 Stress response and nervous system balance
🌿 Emotional tendencies and adaptability
🌿 Areas of inherited strengths and weaknesses

A collarette may appear round and even, or it may show variations such as contractions, openings, irregularities or distortions. These patterns can provide valuable insights into how an individual responds to stress and how their digestive system may be functioning.

The collarette is just one piece of the puzzle, but it often tells a fascinating story about the connection between the gut, nervous system and overall wellbeing.

👁️ Have you ever had your eyes analysed through Iridology? You may be surprised by what your iris can reveal about your unique constitution.

What inspires me to go to work every day 🩺

It’s not just about treating symptoms.

It’s the moment a patient walks in feeling overwhelmed, exhausted or simply not themselves — and leaves feeling heard, understood and hopeful.

It’s seeing someone’s confidence return.
It’s helping a woman understand her body and her hormones.

It’s supporting a child who is struggling.
It’s watching small changes become meaningful transformations.

I’m inspired by people — by their stories, their resilience and their willingness to take an active role in their health.

Every patient reminds me why I chose this profession in the first place: because health is so much more than a diagnosis. It’s about the whole person — mind, body and emotional wellbeing.

And honestly, there is no greater privilege than being trusted to be part of someone’s health journey. 🌿

This is why I love what I do.
