Happy World Teachers’ Day!

Today we celebrate the wonderful teachers who fill our classrooms with patience, kindness, laughter and love every single day.

Teaching little ones is about so much more than ABCs and 123s. It’s wiping tears, celebrating tiny victories, answering a lot of “why?” questions, encouraging independence, giving countless hugs and helping shape little humans as they discover the world.

To our incredible Tic Toc teachers, thank you for the heart you put into everything you do. The lessons you teach today may seem small, but their impact can last a lifetime.

When we look at the little girls in our care, we see possibility.

We see everything they might become, everywhere they might go and all the life still waiting for them.

They deserve to grow up in a world where being a girl does not come with fear.

A world where they can walk freely.
Dream boldly.
Become independent.
And live safely.

As Ekurhuleni mourns women whose lives have been taken, we stand with their families and with every woman and girl in our community.

For the little girls of today and the women they will become tomorrow, we have to do better.

💜 Let her grow up knowing freedom, not fear.
