A day away from the four corners of the classroom, school premises!

Our school went to Gold Reef City for their excursion. It was filled with fun , excitement, discovery and learning through different rides.Learners screamed together and bonded forever.

Theme park rides are basically physics classrooms with adrenaline

*What you can actually test/learn from Rides at Gold Reef City:*

*1. Physics concepts*
- *Gravity + Free fall*: That first drop = 9.8 m/s² in action. You can time the drop and calculate speed.
- *Centripetal force*: The loops and turns push you into your seat. That’s `F = mv²/r` keeping you from flying out.
- *Momentum & inertia*: Why you feel “pushed back” when it speeds up. Your body wants to stay still, the coaster doesn’t.
- *Potential → Kinetic energy*: Slow climb = potential energy. Fast drop = kinetic energy. Total energy stays roughly the same minus friction.
- *Friction + air resistance*: Why the ride slows down at the end. Tracks and air both steal energy.

*2. Maths you can test*
- *Speed/distance/time*: Time the ride + estimate track length = average speed. `speed = distance/time`
- *Angles + geometry*: The angle of the drop affects how fast you fall. Steeper = faster acceleration.
- *G-forces*: The ride pulls ∼3-4G in loops. You can calculate apparent weight: `your weight × G-force`. That’s why you feel “heavier”.

*3. Human body/Biology*
- *Fight or flight*: Heart rate, adrenaline, screaming = your nervous system reacting to perceived danger.
- *Balance + vestibular system*: Why some people feel dizzy after spins. Your inner ear can’t tell what’s up/down.

*4. Real-world skills*
- *Data collection*: Use a phone timer/accelerometer app to actually measure G-forces and speed.
- *Hypothesis testing*: “Will front seat feel faster than back seat?” Test it, compare, explain with physics.
- *Engineering*: Why the track is shaped like that. Why safety bars + over-the-shoulder harnesses exist.

“This educational trip” was the best, We were literally testing Newton’s Laws while screaming.

We would like to thank parents for the support , coaches , teachers and school management; who made this possible for our teams. We witnessed hard work and dedication. All praises be to God for being with us from day one to now.

As we come to the end of our ball games season,Children learn more from playing than long explanations, Youth games should not be about endless speeches and constant control. Children understand the game when they experiment, make mistakes, discover solutions, and make decisions in real games situations.

Learning can not only take place in the four corner's of the classroom but also can be done in the field. As we continue show casing talent and skills from our teams, this time soccer teams proved that they have learnt a lot, as they out smart our visitors with brilliant wins.
