| GRADE 9 HISTORY EXCURSION - GEORGE MUSEUM |

Last week, our Grade 9 learners swapped their textbooks for a day at the George Museum, bringing local history to life through a hands-on learning experience.

The learners explored the history of the Group Areas Act, learnt more about the indigenous people of the George area, including the Outeniqua people, and enjoyed an interactive session with Hankiesdraad, who shared insights into Khoisan history and culture - with a little rapping thrown in.

The day concluded with a special guest speaker who shared her experiences of being involved in the Black Sash during apartheid, giving our learners a personal perspective on South Africa’s history.

An enriching day of learning, listening and connecting with our local heritage.
