A huge shoutout to Josh, Mia and Jordan for showing incredible community spirit over the weekend! π²π³
The three learners spent their time cycling through the neighbourhood looking for places where they could help clear fallen trees β not for payment or recognition, but simply to serve their community.
After discovering a large tree blocking Ronald Street, they worked tirelessly to cut and clear the road, and even plan to return to continue cleaning up.
We are so proud of the character, kindness and initiative shown by these Holy Cross learners. Your community noticed and truly appreciated your efforts! π

βοΈAscension Day Staff Development π
Ascension Day at Holy Cross Primary School was a meaningful time of reflection, prayer and togetherness as staff gathered for a special Staff Development morning centred on the theme βStronger Togetherβ, inspired by Ecclesiastes 4:9β12. βοΈβ€οΈ
The morning began with a beautiful Lectio Divina composed by Mrs Rutter, inviting staff into a space of prayerful, reflection and deeper connection with Godβs Word. Staff were further inspired through thoughtful presentations by Mrs Meggersee and Mrs Engelbrecht, which encouraged meditation, gratitude and reflection on faith, support, and community in both life and teaching.
We were also honoured to have Mr McAfee, our SGB Chairman, as well as a Pastor of City Church, conclude the morning of devotion with words of encouragement and wisdom, reminding us that the Lordβs blessings follow those who place their trust in Him.
The day left staff feeling uplifted, grateful, and strengthened to continue Term 2 together with God at the centre β supporting one another as a faith-filled school community. π

Holy Cross Primary School began Term 2 of 2026 on a beautiful note with a Whole School Mass, officiated by Father Eddie. The celebration brought together learners and staff, in a spirit of gratitude and unity as the new term commenced.
The occasion was made even more special by the uplifting voices of our school choir, whose entrance hymn, Adoramus Te, set a prayerful and inspiring tone for the Mass.
A particularly meaningful moment during the Mass was the special blessing farewell by Father Eddie for Mrs Nougias, who will be retiring at the end of April after an incredible 30 years of dedicated service to Holy Cross Primary School. Her unwavering commitment, care, and contribution to generations of learners have left a lasting legacy within our school community.
We thank Mrs Nougias for her years of devotion and wish her every blessing in this new chapter of her life. May Term 2 be filled with growth, learning, and continued faith for all.
