WATCH till the end - When the heroes become the inspired!

The SWD Eagles paid a very special visit to Carpe Diem School in George, and what started as a day to inspire quickly became much more.

The Eagles were welcomed with dancing, music and even a poem written especially for their arrival.
Then came the big showdown… 🏀🔥

Carpe Diem’s wheelchair basketball team, The Rockets, took on the SWD Eagles, and those boys certainly showed the rugby players what they’re made of!

Coach Heineke Meyer summed it up perfectly: “We came to inspire, but we’ve left the school being so inspired.”

He joked that this was one match he didn't mind losing. 😉 But behind the laughs was genuine admiration for the determination, talent and spirit of these young athletes.

Melissa du Plooy joined the Eagles for this very special visit.

Watch until the end for one of the iconic songs played for the team. Do you recognise it?
