Congratulations to the Texpand Team!
We are incredibly proud of Matthew Greenwood, a Koa student who is the media and game strategy lead in the Texpand team. The team claimed the World Champion Trophy at the FIRST Tech Challenge Robotics Competition in Houston Texas.
Matthew says it was intimidating to compete against teams he has admired for as long as he has been involved in robotics, but it was incredible to come back as winners.
βIt is pretty surreal. I never dreamed we would manage to come back champions.β said Matthew to EWN News.

Fun fact about our pods:
Our pods have only eight students, ensuring 100% engagement. Each student is seen, heard, and supported, while their progress is continuously discussed.
Often, the small, consistent steps lead to the greatest achievements. Each step, no matter how seemingly insignificant, carries the potential to propel us forward. Think of a mighty oak that grows from a tiny acorn, or a flowing river that begins with trickles of water. Never be afraid to start small; each day, be consistent in pursuing your ultimate goals.
Our opt-in Koa Clubs are a highlight for many of our learners. Held every week, and led by a team of teachers and students, they foster a range of passions and give learners another great opportunity to connect meaningfully.
What is Baking Club all about?
Our baking club has fostered a sense of community and connection among learners. Some of the dishes the club had fun making this term were a lovely vanilla buttercream cake, chocolate chip cookies, brownies, traditional South African dishes like malva pudding, and peppermint fridge tart. They also explored savory options, such as quiche, adding to the culinary adventure!
Welcome back to Term 2.
We kicked off term 2 with an all-school assembly. It was amazing to see all our students' faces. Lets make the best of this term.
