🌟 Celebrating the Success of Our Annual Market Day! 🌟
This past Saturday, the Kids Book Club Annual Market Day brought excitement and energy to the Thorntree Preparatory School premises. Organized by Adéle Essakow, principal of Pons Learning Centre and co-admin of the Kids Book Club, this event continues to inspire young learners and families alike.
A Hands-On Business Experience
Students were encouraged to step into the shoes of entrepreneurs by creating their own small businesses. Each participant:
• Conducted market research,
• Designed a business name and logo,
• Purchased stock,
• Priced their goods, and
• Engaged with customers by promoting, selling, and handling transactions.
This practical approach will count toward their Business Studies marks and has given them invaluable experience in planning, creativity, and customer service.
“This is an excellent way to teach students how business works,” said Mrs. Essakow. “They need to be equipped to run their own businesses one day—or even start today!”
Highlights from the Day
The market was alive with vibrant stalls offering:
🍿 Popcorn & Snacks
🍹 Milkshakes & Refreshments
🍪 Cupcakes, Cookies, & Sweets
🎮 Games with Exciting Prizes
🎨 Face Painting
📚 Books & More!
Thanks to the participation of Kids Book Club members, Pons Learning Centre, Thorntree Preparatory students, and the supportive community, the event was a resounding success.
