🌟 Celebrating the Success of Our Annual Market Day! 🌟
This past Saturday, the Kids Book Club Annual Market Day brought excitement and energy to the Thorntree Preparatory School premises. Organized by Adéle Essakow, principal of Pons Learning Centre and co-admin of the Kids Book Club, this event continues to inspire young learners and families alike.
A Hands-On Business Experience
Students were encouraged to step into the shoes of entrepreneurs by creating their own small businesses. Each participant:
• Conducted market research,
• Designed a business name and logo,
• Purchased stock,
• Priced their goods, and
• Engaged with customers by promoting, selling, and handling transactions.
This practical approach will count toward their Business Studies marks and has given them invaluable experience in planning, creativity, and customer service.
“This is an excellent way to teach students how business works,” said Mrs. Essakow. “They need to be equipped to run their own businesses one day—or even start today!”

Yesterday, our amazing students participated in the Kids Book Club Market Day, and I couldn’t be more proud! 🛍️✨
Each student, from Grades 5 to 11, ran their own small business. From product development and marketing to designing their own logos and flyers, they embraced every step of the entrepreneurial journey.
💡 They learned:
• How to price their products 📊
• How to engage with customers 🤝
• The value of hard work and teamwork 💪
Not only did they shine as young entrepreneurs, but they were also outstanding team players—arriving early, helping with setup, and staying to clean up afterward. Their respectfulness, attentiveness, and helpfulness were noticed by everyone.
