MAKING WAVES IN THE POOL

A massive congratulations to Grade 4 swimmer Teghan for her outstanding performances in the pool recently!

At the West Coast Spring Gala she recently chieved impressive Level 2 times across all of her events:

- 200m Individual Medley
- 100m Breaststroke
- 50m Butterfly

This follows her stellar performance at the CTA QT3 gala, where she also secured a Level 2 time in the 50m Breaststroke. She is now just fractions of a second away from Level 2 qualifying times in both Freestyle (0.17s) and Backstroke (0.20s)!

Your hard work, discipline, and dedication to your training are truly paying off, Teghan. Bridge House is so proud of you—keep aiming high!

UNSTOPPABLE ENERGY AT THE BOLAND DEBATING LEAGUE

All four of our Bridgeh House debating teams secured brilliant wins in a clean sweep, alongside a sweep of Best Speaker awards across every division. The Senior Team conquered a Ratatouillemotion on radical transparency, with Joy earning Best Speaker alongside teammates Keira and Sophia.

In Junior A, the team took victory on a Toy Story escape scenario, where Khwezi was named Best Speaker alongside Anni and Zinzile. Junior B kept the winning streak going, featuring Lailah and Ayla exceptionally sharing the Best Speaker award alongside teammate Ezra.

Finally, Junior C completed the flawless 4-0 run, with Robbie taking home Best Speaker alongside teammates Brooklyn and Megan.

Huge congratulations to all our speakers for an outstanding showing!

​Far from a typical sit-and-listen story, Gilly transformed the room into a world of wonder that kept the children thoroughly engaged frkm start to finish. With her captivating storytelling and an array of sensory items, she brought tales to life right before our eyes.

Day 1 of the Round Square Conference yesterday saw our Bridge House Prep delegates immerse themselves in Cape Town’s rich history at the Slave Lodge and Company’s Garden before connecting with partner schools at St Cyprian’s.

From an inspiring opening ceremony to creative icebreakers and a picnic beneath Table Mountain, our students engaged in meaningful dialogue, collaboration, and perspective-sharing with peers across the region.

TRADING THE SIDELINES FOR THE FRONT LINES...

Staying with our Bridge House family thread today, our netball and hockey parents also got in on the end-of-season action when they took on the U13s recently!

​Competitive (we wonder which side more? 😉), fun, and full of great memories. Such special moments for our students to have their parents not just courtside, but right there on the court in their shoes—and a wonderful reminder of what sport is all about!

IT TRULY TAKES A VILLAGE

Our Junior Primary production is coming together thanks to the incredible support of our Bridge House families. From designing sets and making props to crafting amazing costumes, our budding actors, actresses, singers, and dancers have the absolute best team behind them.

A massive thank you to everyone who has given their time, energy, and creativity to help bring this show to life. It is a total team effort, and we couldn't do it without you! 

We can't wait for Production Week next week!

STORIES IN A BOX

Last Friday, our Senior Primary hosted a fantastic Reading Expo for our "Bring Back the Book" initiative—and our Senior Primary grades just blew us away.  

The Grade 6 group were tasked with creating 3D dioramas based on their reading projects. They demonstrated incredible creative flair, technical skill, and painstaking attention to detail. Every box told a story, capturing complex literary settings and characters with amazing precision. 

Thank you to all the friends and family who came out to support our talented young readers and creators!
