Today we explored the icy world of polar animals! 🐻‍❄️🦭❄️

The flamingos loved getting hands-on with our blue sensory rice, ice cubes and fluffy “snow” while discovering animals that live in the polar regions. 🧊💙

A fun sensory experience that encouraged fine-motor skills, imaginative play and sensory exploration! ✨

🐧💙 Crazy 8 Penguins! 💙🐧

On Monday our little Grade 00 artists got creative with Crazy 8 Penguins! ❄️

We started by tracing over the number 8 again and again, practising those continuous looping movements before transforming our 8s into adorable penguins! 🐧 We added eyes, beaks, wings, feet and all the little details that brought our penguins to life. ✏️🎨

Crazy 8s are a wonderful pre-writing activity that helps strengthen fine-motor skills, hand-eye coordination, pencil control and wrist fluidity. The repeated looping movement also encourages visual tracking, bilateral coordination and crossing the midline — all important foundations for developing confident handwriting skills later on.

Most importantly, our children were able to practise these skills while being creative, imaginative and having lots of fun! 🥰

We think our Crazy 8 Penguins turned out pretty cute! 🐧❄️💙

Our theme table in the Elephant class has had an icy makeover and we LOVE it! 🤍💙

From waddling penguins and polar bears to whales, seals and snowy landscapes, our little people can explore, imagine and learn through play.

Theme tables are always a favourite — encouraging curiosity, vocabulary, storytelling, sensory exploration and loads of imaginative play… all while having FUN! 🐧✨

I have a feeling there are going to be some pretty epic Arctic adventures happening here! ❄️💙

🌵🏜️ Desert Sensory Play in the Zebra class! 🐪

Today we got our little hands stuck into our desert sensory bin! 🤎✨ We scooped, poured, explored and discovered while learning all about life in the desert. 🌵🐪

We learned how cactuses store water inside and how camels are specially equipped to survive long journeys through the hot, dry desert. ☀️🏜️

Learning through play makes every little discovery extra special! 🥰✨

🦁🍪 Maths with a tasty twist! 🍪🦒

Today our Flamingos used our leftover zoo biscuits for a fun maths lesson! Each child added their zoo biscuit to our class graph while we practiced counting, comparing quantities and colour recognition. 📊🌈

Learning is always more fun when there’s a little treat involved! 🥰🦓
