On Friday 4 Septmeber, we celebrated the history, traditions and proud spirit of Fish Hoek High School. It was a wonderful opportunity to reflect on where we’ve come from, celebrate where we are today, and look forward to the future of our school.

The Grade 10 Accounting learners were tasked with creating a fun and innovative board game that incorporates the accounting concepts/principles learned so far this year. Attached is a short video taken during their practical demo session. One of our student teachers , Ms Krieger, who took this short video, had a lot of fun and the following to say about the project.

I played two rounds of Ledgeropoly (pics/video attached), and I honestly learnt so much! I thought it was such a clever and fun way of teaching basic Accounting concepts, skills and terminology. It made the content feel much less intimidating and much more interactive.
What I also really enjoyed was seeing how excited the students were to explain the game and teach me how to play. You could really see the effort and thought they had put into creating it, and I think they were quite proud to be able to teach an adult something they had created themselves.
I definitely think it would be interesting to let them test their games on students who don’t take Accounting as well. It would be a great way to see how someone with no Accounting background experiences the games and whether they are able to understand and engage with the concepts.
It was really lovely to see students being so creative with Accounting, especially considering the decline in the number of learners choosing the subject over the years.

The Grade 1 learners from Fish Hoek Primary School warmed the hearts of our Matrics as they wished them well for their final exams. Our little visitors presented each Matric learner with a card and a sweet treat - a thoughtful gesture that brought plenty of smiles.

What a finish! Our Fish Hoek High School Golf Team were crowned the 2026 WP High School League Champions after a 4–2 victory against Durbanville High School in the final on 31 August! ⛳️
