Project Impact to Excellence 2027 |
Evander High School | School Based Support Team

At Evander High School, we believe that every learner deserves the opportunity to succeed. However, we also recognise that, despite our best efforts, some learners continue to fall through the cracks of the education system.

It is time to take a different approach.
In 2027, Evander High School will introduce "Project Impact to Excellence", a new initiative within our School Based Support Team. We are in the process of drafting a plan and we need our community. We need businesses. We need our parents. We need people who care enough to get involved.

The year 2027 will serve as our pilot year. We will learn, evaluate, adap, and refine our approach as we gain experience. Our vision is to develop a sustainable, effective support system that responds to the unique needs of our learners and creates meaningful opportunities for growth and improvement.

Our First Initiatives: Reaching Out with Care is helping us to shape the plan and gathering inspiration and guide us towards the way forward. We reach out to learners who are hospitalised or absent from school for an extended period. We want these learners to know that, even when they cannot be physically present at school, they remain an important part of our Evander High School family. As part of this initiative, we provide them with an academic support pack containing the work they need to complete during their absence. They can also request academic assistance from an educator via WhatsApp, ensuring that they remain connected to their learning and have someone to turn to when they need help. Along with the academic pack, learners receive a get-well-soon card and a little something sweet as a reminder that we are thinking of them. Through this small but meaningful gesture, we hope to communicate a message that goes beyond academics: you belong, you matter, and you are cared for. Even when you are away from the classroom, you are never forgotten. At Evander High School, we want every learner to experience a sense of belonging, compassion and connection, knowing that their school community stands beside them during difficult times.

A special word of appreciation goes to Miss Jamie-Lee Mnisi, who envisioned this dream for our school and remained persistent and determined over the past six months. Through her perseverance, she continually encouraged the Academic DP to embrace this vision and take the first steps towards developing a draft and later a comprehensive plan will follow. Her dedication and unwavering belief in the idea have helped set the wheels in motion for what we hope will become a meaningful initiative for Evander High School. Thank you, Jamie-Lee, for believing in the vision and for refusing to give up on the dream!

ALL THE BEST, MATRIC CLASS OF 2026!

Today marks the beginning of the National Senior Certificate examinations, and we would like to wish each and every Grade 12 learner of Evander High School the very best of luck!

It has been a challenging year, and we know that some of you have given your absolute best throughout the journey, while others may have lost focus along the way. But remember, it is never too late to make a better choice, to refocus, and to give that final push! Every effort you make from today onwards matters.

For the next four weeks, I pray that God will give you the strength and determination to persevere, the discipline to stay focused, and the wisdom to make the right choices. May He grant you clarity of mind as you work through your question papers, calm your nerves when anxiety sets in, and help you recall everything you have learnt.

As educators, one of our greatest hopes is to see the young people who have passed through our hands grow into successful, responsible adults who will make a meaningful difference in the world. We believe in your potential, and we want to see each of you succeed.

For the next four weeks, let your choices reflect your dreams. Put distractions aside, prioritise your schoolwork, make every study session count, and give these examinations the attention they deserve. You have come too far to give up now!

Remember, this is your moment to show up, to persevere, and to give it your all. Make yourself, your family, and your school proud.
May God guide every one of you, bless your efforts, and carry you through these final weeks.

We believe in you. We are praying for you. Now go out there and give it your best!
Forward and upwards, EHS!

CELEBRATING OUR HERITAGE, CULTURE AND DIVERSITY! 🇿🇦

Although our Heritage celebrations had to be postponed, we finally celebrated our Heritage Day on Friday, 9 October 2026, and what a beautiful celebration it was!

As always, our Evander High School learners went above and beyond in embracing their heritage, celebrating their cultures, and proudly showcasing their sense of belonging. The vibrant colours, traditional attire, and beautiful cultural expressions were a true reflection of the richness and diversity of our beloved South Africa.

We are privileged to live in a country where so many different cultures, traditions, and languages come together to create something truly extraordinary. Seeing our learners wear their traditional clothes with such confidence, joy, and pride was a reminder that our diversity is not something that divides us, but something that makes us stronger.

Different cultures, one nation, one school, one proud South African spirit! At Evander High School, we celebrate not only where we come from, but also the unity, respect, and sense of belonging that bring us together.

Forward and upwards, EHS!

A HEARTFELT FAREWELL TO OUR RCL OF 2026

As we say goodbye to our Representative Council of Learners (RCL) of 2026, we would like to congratulate each of you on completing a year of service, growth, and leadership.

It has been a year filled with valuable lessons, personal growth, memorable successes, and opportunities to discover and develop your leadership potential. More than anything, it has been a stepping stone — a place to learn, to serve, to take responsibility, and to begin shaping the leaders you are destined to become.

Thank you for your hard work, dedication, commitment, and the contributions you have made to our school. Your willingness to serve and make a difference is appreciated, and we hope that the experiences you have gained will remain with you long after your term has ended.

As you step into the next chapter of your lives, we trust that you will carry these lessons with you, lead with integrity, serve with humility, and embrace every opportunity that comes your way. May you have the courage to dream big, the determination to work hard, and the wisdom to make a positive difference wherever life takes you.

Your term may be ending, but your leadership journey is only beginning.
Go out into the world and make the most of every opportunity. Continue to grow, continue to serve, and continue to make us proud.
Thank you for being part of the Evander High School family. We wish each of you every success in the journey ahead!

CONGRATULATIONS, LESEDI MOLISE!

What an extraordinary achievement! Lesedi Molise has earned the title of Second Runner-Up at Miss Teen Universe 2026 in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic, proudly representing herself, Evander High School and South Africa on the international stage.

For the second time, Lesedi has made it onto an international podium — a remarkable accomplishment that speaks volumes about her dedication, determination and talent. But Lesedi is so much more than a pretty face; she is intelligent, articulate and exceptionally well-spoken, qualities that earned her the prestigious Best Interview Award at this year's competition.

Lesedi is a true ambassador for her school and her country. She embodies kindness, greatness, wisdom and grace, but what makes her truly special is her humility. Despite her achievements and international recognition, she remains grounded, gracious and genuine — a beautiful example of a young woman who shines just as brightly through her character as she does on the runway.

Lesedi, you have made us incredibly proud! May this be another stepping stone towards even greater opportunities and achievements. Continue to shine, inspire and represent South Africa with the dignity and humility that make you so special.

Once again, congratulations on your outstanding international achievement! The future is yours to conquer.
