Understanding these sensors is key to peak fuel efficiency. Here is a brief breakdown:
Understanding IAT (10A): Measures air temperature. Since cold air is denser, the computer adjusts the fuel mix to prevent wasting gas.
Understanding MAF (15A): Weighs the incoming air. This is the primary sensor the car uses to decide exactly how much fuel to spray.
Understanding Upstream O2 (20A): Checks exhaust oxygen levels. it acts as a "feedback loop" to lean out the mixture and save fuel.
Understanding Downstream O2 (25A): Monitors the catalytic converter. It ensures the engine isn't running in a fuel-heavy "limp mode" due to emissions errors.
Understanding TPS (30A): Tracks your foot on the gas. It helps the computer anticipate power needs so it doesn't over-inject fuel during acceleration.
Understanding CTS (40A): Monitors engine heat. It tells the car when to stop the "cold-start" mode, which uses significantly more fuel.
Understanding Fuel Pump (80A): Maintains high pressure. Correct pressure is vital so injectors can mist the fuel efficiently rather than dripping it.
