Spring Blossoms, Big Exams, and Deep Roots: A Busy Day at Gratton.

Today the campus was humming with activity as every corner of our school community marked a significant milestone, embraced a change of season, or took hands-on learning outdoors.

Our Matric learners took a major step forward today, officially kicking off their final examinations with their first paper: Life Orientation. The focus and determination across the exam room were palpable. We wish them the absolute best as they navigate this crucial season—the entire school is standing behind them!

Down in the Foundation Phase, our youngest learners in Grades 000 and R brought vibrant energy to campus with their annual Spring Tea. Dressed up to welcome the warmer weather, the children celebrated new growth with smiles, laughter, and seasonal treats, making it a truly joyful morning for our littlest school members.

Meanwhile, the Primary and High School commemorated the start of the National Arbor Week by taking their learning outside. Learners turned into mini-botanists for the day, conducting hands-on investigations into the diverse trees across our grounds. They identified species, examined leaf structures, and learned about ecological conservation before coming together to reflect plant new trees on campus—leaving a lasting green legacy for years to come.

From high-stakes exam focus to early childhood celebrations and environmental stewardship, today showcased the rich, dynamic environment that makes our school community so special.

On the August 21st, we had the privilege of welcoming Ms. Rashika Reddy to Gratton!

Ms. Reddy led an engaging and informative awareness session for our Grade 4 to 7 learners, focusing on essential personal hygiene and navigating the changes of puberty. Open, supportive conversations like these are so vital in empowering our young learners with confidence and knowledge as they grow.

To make the day even more impactful, Ms. Reddy generously donated sanitary towels for our girls.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to Ms. Rashika Reddy for taking the time to invest in the health, dignity, and well-being of our learners! 💙✨

Thabang achieved first place among KwaZulu-Natal primary schools in the 2026 Southern African National Geography Olympiad (SANGO). Direct congratulations go to Thabang and his Geography teacher on this magnificent accomplishment.
