To complete our next planting phase, we are looking for donations or sponsorship for:-

• 10 x Clivia Plants (to bring beautiful bursts of seasonal colour)
• Spider Plants / Hen-and-Chicken (for lush, hardy groundcover)

For the first time, Eshowe High School participated in the Eskom Expo For Young Scientists !
Eshowe High School is incredibly proud to celebrate this remarkable academic milestone. On 4 August 2026, eight of our learners were selected to represent the school at the Eskom Expo Regional Science Fair in Richards Bay.
For the first participation, our learners excelled beyond expectations and made our school proud!

Our Grade 9 learners participated in a Mathematics and Natural Science Competition organised by the Department of Education. The initiative aims to motivate more learners to choose Mathematics in Grade 10, as the number of learners taking Mathematics continues to decline sharply.
The first round was conducted at school using learners’ Term 2 June examination results.
Five learners were selected and challenged with 20 questions – 10 Mathematics and 10 Natural Sciences.
We are proud to announce that three learners progressed to the CMC level, which was held on Thursday, 6th of August 2026, at Eshowe Junior School.

Congratulations to Sigudo Mpilonhle for receiving a Certificate of Participation at this stage. Your effort and commitment are commendable.

A special congratulations to the following learners who have progressed to the District Level, which will take place on the 20th August 2026:
• Position 1 – Sibiya Banele
• Position 4 – Pillay Zion

On 1st of August 2026, our Hockey Girls participated in the Inanda Seminary School Festival in Durban.
Our girls displayed exceptional skill, teamwork, determination and sportsmanship throughout the tournament. They produced fantastic results:

Eshowe High School proudly hosted the third annual Coding and Robotics Competition, serving as the Eshowe Zone for the Tangible Africa Coding for Madiba Day Competition.

The event brought together young innovators from seven schools across Eshowe, all showcasing their creativity, problem-solving skills and technological talent.

A special thank you goes to Mr Subramanie, who has served as the Zone Coordinator for the past three years. We are grateful for his dedication to developing Coding and Robotics in our schools. As he steps down from the role, we wish him well and warmly welcome Ms Bhengu from Eshowe Junior School, who will take the reins as the new Zone Coordinator.

The competition was also honoured by a visit from Mr Msomi, a Department of Education official, who came to support and witness the incredible work being done by our learners.

On the 8th of August 2026, our 130th Anniversary celebrations continued with a wonderful day on the golf course!

Old scholars, friends, families and supporters came together for a day filled with friendly competition, laughter and camaraderie, celebrating not only a great game, but the enduring connections that make Eshowe High School so special.

Some memories are simply too precious to leave in the past.

At our 130th Reunion Dinner & Dance, the Class of 1986 turned back the clock and recreated their unforgettable Matric Dance photograph ...40 years later!
What a beautiful way to celebrate the friendships, the memories and the journey that began within these school walls.

But this photograph is about more than just then and now. It is a tribute to those who have left us and those who still walk this journey together. Faces may have changed, years may have passed, but the bonds forged in those school days remain.

From the Green Hills Of Eshowe to new horizons in Taiwan

Today, Eshowe High School bids farewell to an extraordinary educator whose creativity, spirit and devotion have become woven into the fabric of our school.

Since 2018, Miss Zama Mtolo has brought colour, movement and imagination into the lives of our learners. Now, she begins a remarkable new chapter in Taiwan, taking her passion for teaching to new horizons.

As our Creative Arts teacher, her legacy reaches far beyond the classroom. She founded our Drama Club and Dance Sport, nurtured our Marimba Band and Ngoma Girls, led our dancers onto international stages, and co-headed our Environmental Club.

Yet her most beautiful gift has always been her ability to see the child behind the learner, to recognise potential, offer encouragement and stand beside those who needed someone in their corner.

Miss Mtolo, thank you for the imagination you awakened, the confidence you nurtured and the countless moments of joy you created.

As you journey towards this new adventure, may Taiwan welcome you warmly and may this next chapter bring you discovery, fulfilment and happiness.

We will miss you dearly. ❤️
