Regional Road Safety Debate Competition Update.

Today, the Msukaligwa Debate Team, under the leadership and coaching of Ms S.B.X. Mathala, participated in the Regional Road Safety Debate Competition and delivered an outstanding performance.

The final regional results were as follows:

🥇 **Msukaligwa** – **327 points**
🥈 Chief Albert Luthuli – 315 points
🥉 Govan Mbeki – 308 points
4️⃣ Mkhondo – 286 points
5️⃣ Dipaleseng – 285 points
6️⃣ Lekwa – 259 points

We are proud to announce that Msukaligwa emerged as the overall winners of the competition. In addition, the Best Speaker of the Day was awarded to a learner from **Masizakhe Secondary School** in Msukaligwa.

Following this remarkable achievement, Ms S.B.X. Mathala will be proceeding to coach the Gert Sibande District Debate Team as they prepare to compete at the Provincial Road Safety Debate Competition.

Term 2 Parents' Meeting and Top Achievers Awards.

Lucky Dube School of Arts would like to extend its sincere appreciation to all the parents and guardians who attended the Term 2 Parents' Meeting. The purpose of the meeting was to discuss learners' academic performance for Term 2 and to celebrate excellence by recognising the top-performing learners in each grade.

It was a memorable and joyful occasion as parents proudly celebrated alongside their children for earning a place in the Top 10 of their respective grades. We are incredibly proud of the hard work, dedication, and commitment demonstrated by our learners.

Addressing the parents, the Principal, Mr V.N. Thwala, reminded everyone that “All roads lead to 2028," referring to the school's first Grade 12 class. He encouraged parents to continue working closely with the school, emphasising that a strong partnership between parents and educators is essential for learners' success.

NOTICE TO PARENTS AND GUARDIANS

The School Management Team wishes to inform parents and guardians that upon arrival at school this morning, it was discovered that the school's electricity supply had been disrupted due to the theft of electrical cables.
The school immediately sought assistance to resolve the matter. Unfortunately, the restoration process took longer than anticipated, resulting in a delay in the commencement of the Common Provincial Examinations for Grades 8 to 10. The examinations eventually commenced at approximately 15:30. In the interest of maintaining the integrity of the examination process and ensuring that all learners were afforded a fair opportunity to complete their papers, learners could not be released at the usual time.
Parents and guardians are therefore kindly requested to inform transport providers that learners should be collected at 17:00 today.
The school sincerely apologises for any inconvenience caused and appeal for your understanding, patience, and continued support during this unforeseen situation.

ABC Motsepe SASCE Provincial Competition

Our learners proudly participated in the SASCE Provincial Competition held on 13 June 2026 at the Steve Tshwete Local Municipality.

The school competed in two categories: Male Voice and Secondary B: African. Although our learners did not place among the top three, we are extremely proud of their dedication, hard work, and outstanding representation of the school.

This achievement is particularly significant considering that our school only began operating last year. The experience provided valuable learning opportunities and exposure that will contribute to future success.

Teachers and members of the School Governing Body (SGB) were present to support and encourage the learners, cheering them on as they took to the stage. Their presence and encouragement played an important role in boosting the learners' confidence throughout the competition.

The School Principal (Mr Thwala V.N) expressed his appreciation, saying “There was so much positive learning gained from this competition. I am grateful to the teachers, parents, and School Governing Body members who supported our learners throughout their journey, from the Circuit and District competitions to the Provincial level."

The school would also like to extend its sincere gratitude to our choir conductor, Ms Khaba, and Mr Manana for their commitment, guidance, and tireless efforts in preparing the learners for the competition. Their dedication and passion have contributed immensely to the growth and success of our choir.

Congratulations to all our learners for their commitment, perseverance, and excellent conduct. You have made the school proud, and we look forward to even greater achievements in the future. 🎉👏🏾🎶👏🏾

Child Protection Week Awareness Programme

Our Child Protection Week awareness programme was a great success. We would like to extend our sincere appreciation to all stakeholders who took part in educating and empowering our learners on matters relating to child protection and safety.

A special thank you goes to the South African Police Service (SAPS), the School Governing Body (SGB), the Department of Social Development (DSD) social workers, our dedicated learners, and our principal, Mr Thwala, for their valuable contributions and support.
