Nkangala TVET College proudly hosted the 2026 Mpumalanga INSPIRE Entrepreneurship Inter-College Competition Regional Rounds on 7 August 2026 at Anew hotel, Witbank.
The competition brought together aspiring students entrepreneurs from Nkangala TVET College, Gert Sibande TVET College and Ehlanzeni TVET College to showcase their innovative business ideas, entrepreneurial talent and practical solutions.
The event provided students with a valuable platform to present their businesses before a panel of adjudicators, receive constructive feedback and demonstrate the important role of TVET colleges in developing future entrepreneurs, innovators and job creators.
Nkangala TVET College also proudly secured victories in two categories:

🏆 Trade/Artisanal Business Category
We congratulate all the participating students and extend our appreciation to the three colleges, adjudicators, partners, stakeholders and officials whose contributions made the regional competition a success.
Together, we continue to inspire innovation, promote entrepreneurship and empower young people to build sustainable businesses and contribute meaningfully to South Africa’s economy.

The gathering was a wonderful opportunity to honour the strength, resilience and remarkable contributions of women, while encouraging and inspiring one another to rise above challenges, break barriers and continue making a meaningful impact.

Today, Nkangala TVET College proudly hosted the Amagrootman Men's Dialogue Conference at Pienaardam, bringing together men for meaningful conversations on leadership, well-being, and positive social impact.
The conference was officially welcomed by the Acting Deputy Principal: Academic, Mr. S. Ndlala, who encouraged attendees to embrace unity, mentorship, and the important role men play in building stronger families and communities.
Mr. L. Baloi delivered an insightful presentation on financial literacy, empowering attendees with practical knowledge on budgeting, saving, and making informed financial decisions.
Mr. W. Mtambo shared valuable information on mental health, highlighting the challenges that affect men and encouraging attendees to prioritise their mental well-being, seek support when needed, and break the stigma surrounding mental health.
The event was also graced by the College of Council members , Mr. Matabane, Dr Tswue, Mokoena and Mr Mampuru whose presence reaffirmed the College's commitment to empowering men through dialogue, education, and collaboration.

Today, the College had the honour of welcoming the Parliament of South Africa Portfolio Committee, and officials from the Department of Higher Education and Training (DHET) and the National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS), for an oversight visit to the Top of the World Training Centre and Witbank Campus.
The delegation, led by Portfolio Committee Chairperson Mr Tebogo Letsie, was warmly received by College Principal Mr C. Maimela and College Council Chairperson Dr Maselela.
The oversight visit provided an opportunity for the Portfolio Committee to engage with the College Executive, Management,Unions and SRC on key matters relating to institutional performance, governance, teaching and learning, infrastructure development, student funding, student support services, and academic programmes. The engagement and commitment to strengthening technical and vocational education and training while ensuring quality education and improved outcomes for students.
Portfolio Committee Chairperson Mr Tebogo Letsie extended his sincere appreciation to all staff members whose dedication, professionalism, and teamwork contributed to the successful hosting Parliament Portfolio Committee members on the oversight visit.
