🌿 Welcome to Term 4 at Rinkinkie Kleuterskool!

Today we officially kick off Term 4, and we are so excited to welcome our little learners back to another fun-filled term of learning, laughter and discovery! 🎉

🐦 This week’s theme for all classes (Preschool, Grade RR & Grade R): BIRDS

Our learners will explore the fascinating world of birds through stories, songs, creative art activities and hands-on learning while discovering their colours, habitats and beautiful songs.

📚 Our Grade R learners will also be focusing on:
🔤 Letter B
🔢 Counting in 2’s to 10
🧩 Completing a 26-piece puzzle

We are looking forward to a wonderful term filled with learning, growth, friendships and unforgettable memories.

This week our little dinos will be exploring exciting themes through fun, hands-on learning and play!

🌍 Grade R Theme: Healthy Environment
Our Grade R’s will discover & learn how to care for our beautiful world by recycling, planting trees, reducing litter, and learning that even small hands can make a big difference.

This week’s learning includes:
🔤 Review of all letters A–Z
🎂 Learning our Date of Birth
🧩 18-piece Puzzle Challenge

🛒 Grade RR & Preschool Theme: Shopping

Our younger dinos will be learning about healthy food choices, counting, sorting, colours, vocabulary, and everyday life skills.

Another exciting week of learning awaits our little dinos!

🦁 Preschool & Grade RR will be discovering the amazing world of Wild Animals. Together we’ll learn where different wild animals live, what they eat, how they move, and why each animal is special. It’s going to be a roaring adventure full of fun and discovery!

🐑 Grade R learners will be exploring Wool Farms. They’ll learn about sheep, wool, farm life, and how wool is used in our everyday lives. Our Grade R learners will also:
🔤 Learn the letter G
📞 Practise remembering their parents’ telephone numbers
🧩 Complete an 18-piece puzzle to develop problem-solving and concentration skills.

Children are naturally curious, and every question they ask is an opportunity to connect, explore and learn together. When we make time to listen, wonder and discover alongside them, we’re not only teaching them about the world, we’re showing them that their thoughts and ideas matter.

🧸 Happy National Teddy Bear Day! 🧸

A teddy bear is so much more than a toy. For many children, it’s a best friend, a brave protector at bedtime, a listening ear during big feelings, and a comforting cuddle when they need one most.

Research has shown that comfort objects like teddy bears can help young children feel safe, build confidence, develop emotional security, and encourage imaginative play. Through play, children learn to express their feelings, solve problems, and create wonderful adventures.

National Teddy Bear Day is celebrated every year on 9 September. The teddy bear got its name in 1902 after American President Theodore “Teddy” Roosevelt refused to shoot an injured bear cub during a hunting trip because he believed it was unfair. The story touched so many hearts that a toy maker created a stuffed bear and called it “Teddy’s Bear.” More than 120 years later, teddy bears are still bringing comfort, love and smiles to children all over the world.

Today, give your little one an extra cuddle, read a story with their favourite teddy, or enjoy a teddy bear picnic together. ❤️
