Baysville School of Skills would like to extend our sincere appreciation to Cherry East London, part of the Kelston Group, for their generous donation of vehicle parts to our workshop.

Thank you to Mr JP Herbst, Mr M Gqeba and Mr J van der Merwe
for the part they played to make this donation possible.
This kind of support makes a real difference to our learners!
Mr Moss and his Year 3 Maintenance learners will have the valuable opportunity to strip, examine and reassemble these components, gaining practical experience that cannot simply be taught from a textbook.

By working with actual vehicle parts, our learners will develop a better understanding of how vehicles operate, how individual components work together and how mechanical systems function in practice. Most importantly, they will be learning by
doing – building confidence, problem-solving skills and practical knowledge along the way.

At Baysville, we believe that practical exposure creates opportunities. Every donated component, tool or piece of equipment gives our learners another opportunity to
learn a skill that could one day become part of their career.
Baysville School of Skills would like to encourage other businesses and companies to partner with us and consider donating usable tools, equipment, machinery, components or materials to our workshops.

Your support can help us provide our learners with better practical training and prepare them for the world of work.
Together, we can build skills, create opportunities and change lives.

We are so proud of these Arts and Crafts Workshop learners who excelled at the 2026 Preservaria Eisteddfod - a South African LSEN arts and performance festival open to learners from across all 9 provinces. They bagged a total of 2 gold (A+), 12 double gold(A++) and 8 Triple Gold(A+++) certificates for their art and craft entries. Well done!

🔧 Hands-on Learning in Action! 🛠️
​Our Year 3 Maintenance learners at Baysville School of Skills recently had an incredible experience during a 2-day workshop excursion to Cliffies Auto on August 26th and 27th!
​A massive thank you to Cliffie and Chris for welcoming our learners into their workshop and providing invaluable, hands-on mechanical training. From servicing motor vehicles to demonstrating how a professional mechanical workshop operates day-to-day, their guidance gave our students practical insight into the industry. 🚗⚙️
​We were also fortunate to have Midas Bowles Road join in to make the excursion even more interactive! Special thanks to the manager, Riaan, for organizing an engaging station where learners were challenged to identify key car parts and tools. Congratulations to the group winners who took home Gedore socket sets, generously sponsored by Midas Bowles Road! 🏆🧰
​We are deeply grateful to local businesses like Cliffies Auto and Midas Bowles Road for reaching out to our school, taking the time to invest in our youth, and giving our learners direct experience in the motor servicing industry.

Well… this is certainly a lovely problem to have! 🥰

We haven’t even had the chance to officially advertise our upcoming “A Taste of Spring – Death by Dessert” Murder Mystery Dinner, and it is already SOLD OUT! 🎉🍰🔪

A huge thank you to everyone who has shown such incredible support and enthusiasm for our Year 4 Hospitality students and their final practical assessment. Your support means so much to our students and to our school! ❤️

Some people work within a school. Others quietly hold the entire school together.

Today, we proudly celebrate three remarkable women who keep Baysville School of Skills steady through every busy morning, unexpected challenges, ringing telephones, urgent requests and constantly changing school days.

To Ms Moore, Mrs Bezuidenhout and Ms Ntleki—thank you for the patience, warmth, organisation and dedication you bring to our school. So much of what you do happens behind the scenes, but its impact is felt in every classroom, office and corridor.

You are far more than our secretaries. You are trusted voices, problem-solvers, welcoming smiles and three of the strongest anchors in the Baysville family.
