their pieces. I love the work I do as each piece has a unique story behind it. Many of my clients are devastated when a piece becomes damaged as they have an emotional bond with the work. Many of the pieces have been inherited from previous generations and some of the items have enormous emotional or commercial value to collectors. I have quite a group of collectors who value the quality of my work and regularly entrust me to restore their pieces to their former glory. It is work that I take seriously and I am meticulous in terms of reproducing the damaged areas of pieces which I receive. Restoration is a painstaking job. It is time consuming and if done properly you will not notice the difference to the the original. Although the bulk of my work involves porcelain and marble restoration I also have managed to restore other articles which resemble porcelain at a glance. Some of the old dolls I have restored have included replacing sections of lace and repairing limbs which were originally cast from fibrous substances. I have also restored items cast and fashioned from more porous materials such as terracotta and gypsum. Each article is a challenge and one that I enjoy.
