Grade 6 & 7 Social Sciences Excursion to the East London Museum

On 29 and 30 July, our Grade 6 and Grade 7 learners had the exciting opportunity to visit the East London Museum as part of their Social Sciences curriculum. The excursion provided an engaging and enriching learning experience, allowing learners to connect the concepts covered in the classroom with real-life historical, cultural, and scientific exhibits.

During the visit, learners explored a wide range of fascinating displays. They discovered exhibits on early human history, examined artefacts from the colonial era, and learned about the people and events that have shaped the history of East London and the Eastern Cape. The museum's remarkable collection of historical objects offered valuable insight into the region's rich and diverse heritage.

The learners also enjoyed the museum's natural history section, where they observed a variety of fish and marine life found along the Eastern Cape coastline. They explored displays on boats and maritime history, gaining a greater appreciation for the vital role that the sea and harbour have played in the growth and development of East London throughout the years.

The excursion was both educational and enjoyable, inspiring curiosity, critical thinking, and a deeper appreciation for South Africa's history and natural environment. Experiences such as these bring learning to life and help learners develop a meaningful understanding of the world around them.

🍊🍌🍎 Fruitful Giving – What an Incredible Blessing!🍎🍌🍊

Our hearts are so full after two wonderful Fruitful Giving days! Thanks to the incredible generosity of our ACS families, we collected an amazing variety of fresh fruit that was donated to Abbotsford Christian Centre for the Nompumelelo Feeding Scheme to help provide nutritious meals for those in need.

Thank you to every family who contributed. Whether big or small, each piece of fruit is a reminder to our learners that even the simplest act of kindness can make a meaningful difference in someone's life.

We are so grateful for your continued support as we partner together to teach our children the joy of giving with cheerful and generous hearts. 🩵
