Meet our soloist | Youth Concerto Festival (ECPO)
ALEXIS CLARKE (Flute)

Alexis Clarke began playing the flute at the age of 6 and learned to read music before she could confidently read words. Music has become an important means of self-expression, allowing her to communicate through performance. Before the age of 10, she won her category in the Ultimate Performer Competition, demonstrating her talent from an early age. She is currently in matric at Hudson Park High School and in 2025, successfully completed her Grade 8 Flute Examination. She continues to build her performance experience through competitions, concerts and ensemble participation. Alexis is passionate about sharing her music with others and is honoured to perform as part of the Eastern Cape Philharmonic Orchestra Youth Concerto Festival.

A fantastic long weekend of netball saw both our 𝘂𝟭𝟰𝗔 and 𝟭𝘀𝘁 𝗧𝗲𝗮𝗺 girls compete against the best in the province at the Eastern Cape Championships.

After a series of outstanding performances, both teams finished on the podium, bringing home 𝗯𝗿𝗼𝗻𝘇𝗲 𝗺𝗲𝗱𝗮𝗹𝘀 and once again flying the red and white with pride.

Congratulations to our players and coaches on a superb campaign. Your determination, resilience and fighting spirit were on full display throughout the tournament.

𝗧𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗮𝗻𝗱𝗼 𝗦𝘂𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗮𝗯𝗶𝘀

𝗠𝘂𝘀𝗶𝗰

On Sunday, a group of Hudson Park flautists travelled to Port Alfred for a day of workshops, masterclasses and an unforgettable concert experience alongside music learners and teachers from Clarendon and Stirling.

They had the privilege of learning from 𝗖𝗼𝗯𝘂𝘀 𝗱𝘂 𝗧𝗼𝗶𝘁, an internationally acclaimed South African-born flautist and 𝗔𝘀𝘀𝗼𝗰𝗶𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗳𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗼𝗿 𝗼𝗳 𝗙𝗹𝘂𝘁𝗲 𝗮𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗨𝗻𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗼𝗳 𝗠𝗮𝘀𝘀𝗮𝗰𝗵𝘂𝘀𝗲𝘁𝘁𝘀. His presentation and masterclasses provided invaluable guidance and inspiration, with 𝘁𝗵𝗿𝗲𝗲 𝗛𝘂𝗱𝘀𝗼𝗻 𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗻𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝗿𝗲𝗰𝗲𝗶𝘃𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗶𝗻𝗱𝗶𝘃𝗶𝗱𝘂𝗮𝗹 𝗺𝗮𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗰𝗹𝗮𝘀𝘀𝗲𝘀.

The day concluded with a magnificent concert featuring Cobus, accompanied by pianist Eugene Joubert and flautist Liza Klopper.

Our flautists returned from Port Alfred uplifted, inspired and eager to continue pursuing excellence in music.

As we mark the 𝟱𝟬𝘁𝗵 𝗮𝗻𝗻𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗮𝗿𝘆 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗦𝗼𝘄𝗲𝘁𝗼 𝗬𝗼𝘂𝘁𝗵 𝗠𝗮𝗿𝗰𝗵, we remember those who walked before us and recognise the responsibility of today's generation to lead with integrity, pursue excellence and make a positive impact in their communities.

𝗙𝘂𝗹𝗹 𝗧𝗶𝗺𝗲 | First XV

In tough, muddy derby conditions, the Eagles rose to the challenge.

The conditions may have been messy, but the boys' commitment, physicality and work rate were anything but. From the opening whistle, they dug deep, won the key battles and earned a deserved derby win.

Credit to Stirling for a hard-fought contest, and congratulations to our First XV on their performance.

Our 1st Team Netball girls held their nerve in a thrilling derby encounter that went right down to the final whistle.

The intensity, determination and composure shown by the team under pressure were outstanding. A result built on grit, teamwork and belief.
