The 17th Southern Africa Innovative Users Group conference (IUG-SA 2019) welcomes proposals for papers to be presented at the next IUG-SA Conference.
The theme of the 2019 IUG-SA conference is Digital transformation towards the 4th Industrial Revolution in libraries. Libraries play a pivotal role in innovation to shape the technological trends so as to empower people rather than replacing them.
The aim of this conference is to provide an opportunity to reflect on the challenges and opportunities that libraries are facing within our library systems and product environment, as well as to freely and openly share ideas on current practices and developments.
We invite you to submit proposals on themes related to Innovative products and service, including but not limited to, the Suggested Themes. Please submit proposals for the following:
Full presentations (20- 30 min)
Share how you use Innovative products and services in your library.
Quick Bytes (5 min)
Share and showcase your own unique solutions to everyday problems
Function Discussion (1 hour break-away sessions)
Would you like to meet with like-minded people to discuss specific topics? This is an opportunity to meet informally to freely discuss, network and share ideas. Please send us your suggestions for Function Discussions.
Workshops (2 hour)
The organizing committee has shortlisted workshop topics for your consideration. You must be registered for the main conference to select workshop sessions at conference registration at the event. Please visit our Survey to select your institution’s top choices for workshops you would like to attend.
Please submit an abstract for a paper or quick bytes, or your willingness to facilitate a workshop or a function discussion not later than 30 June 2019 via e-mail to [email protected]. Please include:
Title of paper and abstract (not exceeding 250 words),
Presenter: Name, designation, institution
Contact details: e-mail address, cell and office number
A short Biography
Successful applicants will be informed about the decision on their abstracts and the method for submission of full papers within 14 days. Full papers are expected in by 26 July 2019 for review.
