𝗔 𝗠𝗨𝗦𝗜𝗖𝗔𝗟 𝗖𝗘𝗟𝗘𝗕𝗥𝗔𝗧𝗜𝗢𝗡 𝗢𝗙 𝗙𝗢𝗨𝗡𝗗𝗘𝗥𝗦’ 𝗗𝗔𝗬 🎉

In celebration of Founders’ Day, we hosted a Musical Celebration, bringing together our talented musical groups alongside accomplished guest musicians for an unforgettable evening showcasing a diverse range of instruments and musical styles.

The atmosphere was enhanced by elegant lighting, while tables and chairs filled the front half of the hall, creating a relaxed setting where guests could bring their own meals, enjoy dinner and settle in for the evening’s entertainment. The concert was exceptionally well supported, with a packed audience, they enjoyed a memorable evening filled with music, talent, entertainment and celebration!

What an amazing way to finish off our Derby Day season against Eunice!

We celebrated our matric learners as they played their final matches for Clarendon, creating special memories that they will carry with them long after their school activity days are over. It was wonderful to witness the sportsmanship, camaraderie and passion that make Girls’ School Derbys so special.

Thank you to Eunice for making the long road trip to Clarendon and for strengthening the special sisterhood between our schools once again.

A huge thank you to all our staff, coaches and parents for your incredible commitment, encouragement and support throughout the winter season. We truly appreciate everything you do for Clarendon!

𝗖𝗟𝗔𝗥𝗘𝗡𝗗𝗢𝗡 𝗥𝗜𝗗𝗜𝗡𝗚 𝗧𝗘𝗔𝗠 𝗦𝗛𝗜𝗡𝗘𝗦 𝗔𝗧 𝗜𝗡𝗧𝗘𝗥𝗦𝗖𝗛𝗢𝗢𝗟𝗦 🏇🏼

Our Clarendon riding team took part in the annual Border Equestrian Community (East London and surrounds) interschools riding competition.

The Clarendon team made up of Ella Tucker, Jaime Stewart and Ava Lee, demonstrated their incredible riding skills in various competitions including dressage riding tests, show jumping courses, team spirit and unity events, handy hunter obstacle tests including having to weave through bending poles, jumping horses through ditches and over cross country jumps and other working riding obstacles all at full gallop!

Horses and riders were also judged on neatness of riding gear and tack as well how clean and groomed their horses looked. This happened in individual and in team riding tests.

Our girls showed grit and bravery and skills in every test and made us incredibly proud.

Results:

Ella Tucker achieved:
Handy Hunter 4th place
Dressage 2nd place
Turn out 1st place.
1st place for Overall High School Individual across all disciplines.

Jaime Stewart performed brilliantly in her dressage tests and handled tricky obstacles and jumps with calmness and skill.

Ava Lee achieved:
2nd individual overall turnout
3rd individual overall jumping award.

As a team Clarendon riding girls achieved:

Handy Hunter 3rd place
Dressage 3rd place
Jumping 4th place
Turn out 1st place
and a fantastic achievement of 3rd place - overall high school team across all disciplines!

𝗪𝗜𝗡𝗧𝗘𝗥 𝗦𝗣𝗢𝗥𝗧𝗦 𝗔𝗪𝗔𝗥𝗗𝗦 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲 🏆

We are incredibly proud of our learners who were recognised for their respective awards at our Winter Sports Awards Assembly!

On Friday we gathered to celebrate our 123rd Founders’ Day, a special occasion that honours our school’s history, traditions and the generations of girls who have helped shape our Clarendon story.

The service in the Mary Laurie Memorial Hall was made even more meaningful by our guest speaker, Rebecca Mqamelo (Class of 2016), who delivered a phenomenal and thought-provoking talk, leaving us with plenty of inspiration and food for thought as we reflected on our own journeys and the legacy we carry forward.

A special moment of silence held in remembrance of Clarendon girls who have passed away. This beautiful tradition was introduced this year by the Old Girls’ Guild, providing an opportunity for us to pause, remember and honour those who remain an important part of the Clarendon story.

Following the service, old girls, special guests and staff gathered for a celebratory tea in the outdoor tea area and Lady Clarendon Hall. Exquisite treats were enjoyed as friends and classmates caught up, shared memories and celebrated the enduring connections that make our Clarendon community so special!

𝗛𝗢𝗡𝗢𝗨𝗥𝗦 𝗔𝗪𝗔𝗥𝗗𝗦 🏆

A huge congratulations to Leila Schenk, who has been awarded Honours for Biathle, and to Viha Beecum, who has been awarded Honours for Chess!

These prestigious achievements are a wonderful testament to their dedication, commitment and excellence in their respective fields.

𝗦𝗢𝗖𝗖𝗘𝗥 𝗙𝗜𝗫𝗧𝗨𝗥𝗘𝗦 📌

𝗧𝗢𝗣 𝟭𝟮 𝗛𝗢𝗖𝗞𝗘𝗬 𝗧𝗢𝗨𝗥𝗡𝗔𝗠𝗘𝗡𝗧 🏑

Our U14A hockey team had the privilege of recently taking part in the prestigious Top 12 Hockey Tournament.

This was a fantastic opportunity for the team to test themselves against some of the very best hockey-playing schools in South Africa. The competition was tough, with every match providing a valuable learning experience. Despite the challenges, the team showed tremendous grit, determination and spirit, growing in confidence and improving with every game.

Results:
vs Durban Girls’ College: Lost 1–5
vs Paarl Gimnasium: Lost 0–3
vs Rhenish: Lost 1–3
vs St Anne’s: Lost 1–3
vs Eunice: Drew 1–1

The team’s performance improved consistently throughout the tournament, culminating in a well-deserved draw against Eunice. The girls can be incredibly proud of the way they competed, never gave up and continued to push themselves against some of the strongest opposition in the country.

Well done, girls! Your determination, resilience and growth throughout the tournament were truly impressive. We are incredibly proud of you!
