It is when we work together that we can be able to achieve our set goals. It is also in the interest of the general community to ensure that our young people are well taken care of, to ensure a promising future for the country.
SYDP calls upon the Government, Businesses, and Citizens to come together and build this beautiful country of ours through working with the young people.

20 September 2024, Sophumelela Youth Development Programme (SYDP), held a career exhibition for the Khutliso Daniles SSS, Nathaniel Nyaluza SSS, and TEM Mrwetyana SSS learners. The aim was to alert learners about possible careers that are founded through exploring the TVET College route. Eastcape Midlands College- Corporate profile was represented by Mr. S. Masoka who informed learners about courses and programmes offered at the institution as well as where those campuses are located.
Loid Icebo Lakho Ntshoko also equipped learners with careers found within the use of audio. He started by sharing where his love of music began which also made him want to be able to produce his songs and for other artists. Mr. Ntshoko encouraged learners to explore possible career opportunities within the audio industry and not just to enjoy listening to music but also to ask how and who does the work to ensure people enjoy the sound.
National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS) was in the house to notify learners that NSFAS applications were opened from 16 September 2024 for those who are to go to TVET Colleges as well as universities in 2025. Mr. A. Nyangiwe encouraged learners to be honest when submitting applications to avoid delays from their applications.
Learners were equipped as they were made aware that TVET Colleges take learners who have passed Grade 9 in the National Certificate (Vocational) also known as NCV stream and those who have passed Grade 12 in the R191 stream, and the short skills programmes offered in the various TVET Colleges.
SYDP appreciates:
Ms. K. Mgandela for directing the programme keeping our learners entertained and not forgetting to share her journey in academics. We wish her well in the upcoming exams and future endeavours.
Ms. Y. Mthsotana led the South African National Anthem with pride, and for gracing us with her presence even though she had to report to duty immediately.
Mr. A. Daweti, and Ms. A. Jali, who are products of Eastcape Midlands TVET College and interns of SYDP for having the courage to put such a programme together.
Ms. A. Pini and her team the SEF participants in the organisation, who was also a photographer for the day.
Makana Local Municipality for permitting us to make use of Noluthando Hall.
Jusaqua for collaborating with us to ensure that we did not go thirsty. Water is life and purified water is health.
