Misty, ILG cofounder and tutor
Professionally-speaking, Misty is a primary school homeroom teacher at a not-for-profit private bilingual school in Shanghai. Misty received her bachelor's in communications and music theater. She consults with schools who are developing services for learning and/or high language need students. On a personal note, at nine years old, Misty had to learn how to walk and write again after a head injury. She thinks all humans could use some therapy; “we’re all a little messed up; embrace it, address it, grow from it, emerge changed.” Misty believes in working hard while being kind.

Wayne, ILG cofounder and WLA associate
Professionally-speaking, Wayne is a secondary school principal. He has his doctorate in business administration (His dissertation focused on leadership styles, employee satisfaction, and organizational performance in the international and internationalized school sector in China, Hong Kong, and the UAE). Wayne completed his bachelor’s in sociology and master's in educational leadership with Texas principal certification. He has taught, coordinated, coached (instructionally), and led at schools in the U.S. and China for 19 years. On a personal note, Wayne was born and raised as a cross-eyed kid in South Africa; he had his final eye surgery before moving to the U.S. His life motto is "be courageous, have compassion, and cultivate connection." Driving with the top down in his '94 BMW E36 is a favorite pastime.
