💙 TEACHER APPRECIATION DAY 💙

Because the 5th of October fell in the school holidays this year, we decided to celebrate our amazing teachers and teacher aides a little early on the last day of Term 3!

Our teachers were treated to freshly made Seattle Coffee ☕️, followed by delicious chicken wraps and samosas. And because teachers deserve to feel extra special, each teacher also received a personalised Crewe Primary School lanyard, complete with their teacher name. 😉💙

To all our wonderful teachers, thank you for everything you do. For your patience, dedication, creativity, encouragement and for always going the extra mile for our learners. You are appreciated more than you know! ❤️

What a wonderful way to celebrate Heritage Day at Crewe Primary School! 🇿🇦✨

On the last day of school, our learners embraced the spirit of the day by dressing up and celebrating the many cultures and traditions that make our school community so special.

Mrs Govind treated her class to delicious flapjacks, while her learners returned the kindness by bringing along a variety of homemade dishes to share with one another. What a beautiful way to celebrate through food, friendship and togetherness! 🥞🍲❤️

Our staff also joined in the fun by dressing up, making the day even more memorable. 🎉

Celebrating Mrs Nel’s 60th Birthday

Today, we have the privilege of celebrating a very special milestone — Mrs Nel’s 60th birthday.

Mrs Nel, for sixty years, God has blessed this world with your presence. Throughout those years, you have fulfilled so many important roles: daughter, wife, mother, friend, colleague, leader, mentor and valued member of your community. Yet, for those of us who are fortunate enough to know you, these titles only begin to describe the person you are.

You have a quiet strength about you. You are diligent, intelligent, knowledgeable and passionate, but perhaps what stands out most is your strong moral compass and the genuine compassion with which you treat others. You have an extraordinary ability to listen — not simply to hear what someone is saying, but to truly understand them.

Throughout your journey, you have been a mentor, a source of guidance and a friend to so many. Your wisdom, kindness and willingness to support others have made a lasting impact on the people fortunate enough to work alongside you and know you personally.

There are people who need to be loud in order to make their presence known, and then there are people like you. Your presence is calming, your wisdom speaks quietly, and your absence is always felt.

You are much like a light that quietly guides others along their way — never demanding attention, yet making the path a little clearer for those around you.

As a school community, our wish and prayer for you is that God continues to cover your life with His grace and mercy, and that the years ahead bring you good health, peace, happiness and many more beautiful memories.

May those who have not yet had the opportunity to truly know you take the time to do so, because they will discover what so many of us already know: you are someone very special.

Never forget that you are seen, appreciated and loved, and that the difference you make in the lives of others does not go unnoticed.

Mrs Nel, thank you for being such an important part of our school community. Your friendship, guidance, knowledge and presence have touched the lives of many, and we are truly grateful for all that you contribute to our school.

Today, we celebrate not only your 60 years of life, but also the incredible person you are and the many lives you have influenced along the way.

What a special day at Crewe as we celebrated **122 years of Crewe Primary School!** 🎉💙

Founders Day is always a wonderful opportunity to celebrate the history, traditions and people who have shaped our school over the years. From past pupils and staff to the generations of families who have walked through our gates, each has played a part in making Crewe the special school it is today.

This year, we were especially honoured to welcome **Lisa Hawker** as our guest speaker. Lisa is a past pupil of Crewe, making her return to the school particularly meaningful. Her connection to Crewe runs even deeper through her mother, **Marlee Hawker**, who was affectionately known as the **“Mother of the Crewe Kids.”** It was incredibly special to hear Lisa share her memories and experiences and to be reminded of the lasting impact a school can have long after leaving its classrooms.

Our 122nd Founders Day was a beautiful celebration of where we have come from, the memories we continue to make, and the generations of Crewe learners who will carry the school forward.

The Grade 7's have made their first stop in Nanaga! 🚌✨ Still on their way to Oudtshoorn, but the Grade 7 Camp adventure is officially underway!

A little break, some snacks and plenty of excitement before they hit the road again. 😄 We can’t wait to see what memories they make along the way! 💙

Foundation Phase Concert 🪄🎩 🎪

Step right up! The most spectacular show just happened right here in our Foundation Phase! Our Grade R to Grade 3 learners absolutely dazzled us in this year’s circus-themed sing-song concert.

The hall was transformed with beautiful decorations, setting the perfect stage for an unforgettable concert. Each dance and song brought it's own unique magic to the stage with spectacular moves and incredible energy. Our audience was treated to a full lineup of world-class talent, including:

🐩 Adorable Circus Dogs performing clever tricks.

💪 Mighty Strong Men, lifting "heavy" weights with ease.

🔥 Daring Fire Dancers lighting up the stage.

🐅 Fierce Tigers showing off their wild moves.

🤡 Hilarious Clowns filling the room with laughter.

🎩 Mysterious Magicians leaving everyone spellbound.

🐍 Hypnotic Snake Charmers mesmerizing the crowd.

🤸 Flexible Acrobats twisting and tumbling.

Grade R and 3 Interaction ✂️ ✨ 💙

Little people, big imaginations! Yesterday, our Grade R and Grade 3 learners teamed up for an out-of-this-world crafting activity, using shapes to build a space man.

Our Grade 3 learners put their fine motor skills to work, carefully cutting out a galaxy of colorful geometric shapes. But when it came to designing the space men, the Grade R learners took total control! The Grade 3 learners stepped back and let their younger buddies take charge, giving our Grade R learners a wonderful chance to feel like the "big people" for the morning.

It was a beautiful morning, with lots of laughter and smiles. The teamwork and creativity on display were absolutely magical! ✨

Grade 1 and 7 Interaction 🪨🎨💙

Some time for creativity, connection and colour! Yesterday our Grade 7 learners paired up with the Grade 1 learners for a special rock decorating activity.

It was wonderful to see our oldest primary school learners guiding, encouraging and laughing with some of our youngest learners. Together, they turned simple stones into beautiful and bright creations.

Thank you to the Grade 7 team for organizing and hosting this lovely interaction. It was truly something special.
