Hop, hop, hooray! 🐰🌷 Tiny Toes Preschool and Tippi Toes Baby Care had the sweetest Easter parade — complete with tiny Easter hats, floppy bunny ears, and the most adorable strut-down the hallway! 🎩🐇 Our littlest stars showed off handmade creations and bright smiles thanks to the amazing families who crafted and donated them. 💕✨

Tummy time is more than just a cute photo opportunity — it’s essential for your baby’s development. At Tippi Toes Baby Care we use cosy props, colourful toys and one-to-one encouragement to make tummy time safe, fun and effective. Here’s why it matters and some ideas you can try at home or with us:

Why tummy time is important:
- Builds neck, shoulder and core strength so babies can lift their heads, roll, sit and eventually crawl 💪👶
- Supports motor development and coordination, including reaching and grasping 🎯
- Helps prevent flat spots on the back of the head (positional plagiocephaly) when used alongside supervised back-sleeping 🛌
- Encourages sensory exploration and visual development as babies practise tracking and focusing 👀

Tippi Toes tummy-time approach (shown in the pictures):
- Soft mats and colourful flower-shaped pillows for comfort and support 🌸
- Bright, easy-to-grip toys placed within reach to encourage reaching and head turns 🧸🔴
- Carers at eye level offering gentle encouragement, songs and interactive play to keep babies engaged 🎶😊
- Short, supervised sessions that are gradually increased as babies grow ⏱️

Simple ideas to try:
- Start with just a minute or two several times a day, increasing gradually as baby tolerates it ⏳
- Use a rolled towel or a small cushion under the chest for extra support in the early weeks 🟣
- Place an engaging toy or mirror in front to encourage lifting and reaching 🤹‍♀️🪞
- Lie face-to-face with your baby — sing, smile and talk to build connection and confidence ❤️
- Always supervise closely and stop if baby becomes distressed; never put a sleeping baby on their tummy 🛑
