improve your English language skills with me in a friendly, relaxed and informal setting. The group will consist of 3 learners and myself and lessons will be for 60 minutes on the Google Meet platform. We will have lessons on various interesting, relevant and contemporary topics - you are also welcome to bring your own topics if you wish and I will create a lesson around it. In my lessons I also encourage healthy discussions and debates around the day's topic and this will help improve your confidence and fluency when speaking English. The traditional language skills will of course be included in the lesson plan and lessons are designed in such a way to allow you to practice them in a sensible manner. I strongly promote the idea of "global citizenship" where we all become more aware of and sensitive to other cultures, customs and traditions. We all have so much to learn from each other and my aim is for our group lessons to be inclusive and welcoming of all our world's citizens - a place where you will feel welcome and free of prejudice, no matter your background. 1. English is considered the current global lingua franca - a language that is adopted as a common language between speakers who have different native languages. English has become the lingua franca in many fields, including business, science, technology, aviation, entertainment, and diplomacy.
2. By improving your English skills you may also: improve your chances of unlocking employment opportunities in English-speaking countries or even in your own country; be able to study abroad and boost your education; enjoy other countries and cultures. To introduce ourselves to each other.
2. To get to know a little more about each other - do you work or study? what is your location / where are you from? what are your interests / hobbies?
3. This will also help me with ideas for lesson topics. In this way we can have lessons on topics that you are interested in so that you will stay focused and concentrate more, and therefore learn more. You will listen more closely, speak your mind more easily and have healthy debates / discussions on a topic that is of interest to you personally.
4. We are a team, so we need to know at least a litlle about each other to work better as a team.
5. Students are not just learners to me, but become friends and even after you have completed your course with me, you are welcome to keep me as a contact for as long as you like. So you will in essence have a lifelong native English-speaking friend at your fingertips to continue practicing long after our lessons are over and done! THE CURRICULUM
There are essentially four components to a curriculum: the goals, the methods, the materials, and the assessment. These components are very closely linked as the goal is the primary component with which a lesson begins and the others follow in order to achieve that goal. In my lessons we start off with a clear objective. This is then followed by exercises and tasks using different methods and materials (audio, video, text) to review and practice the various English language skills (listening, speaking, reading and writing). The lesson exercises enable you to practice and improve on these skills as well as your pronunciation, grammar and vocabulary. If you have any questions please feel free to contact me.
