Amazing, what a hero.

🔴🟡RESCUE REPORT:

On the 22nd of December one of our lifeguards, Andrea Parrello, was involved in the rescue of an infant outside his holiday house in Hermanus.

He came outside to hear a people screaming and saw a group of adults around an infant. Arriving at the scene Andrea could see the infant had taken in a lot of water.

He asked permission from the infant's parents to help, after being granted it he then began to assess the infant. After assessing he began perform CPR as the infant was not breathing.

After starting CPR the infant began to cough up water and began to breathe. The baby was then sent to hospital with its parents and Andrea advised them on the risks of secondary drowning.

A big well done to Andrea for his quick response and successful rescue.
