Stop blaming your DNA.
Yes, genetics matter.
But they’re responsible for far less than most people think.
Every workout.
Every meal.
Every night of quality sleep.
Every moment spent managing stress...
..is a message to your body.
Your genes are not a life sentence.
They’re a blueprint waiting for instructions.
The question isn’t:
“What genes did you inherit?”
It’s:
“What environment are you creating for them?”
Flourish Workshops
Create a framework for your life that energises your soul and enables you to flourish.
Not all carbohydrates are created equal.
Let’s clear something up.
There are essential fats.
There are essential amino acids.
But there are no essential carbohydrates.
Your body is incredibly adaptable and can produce the glucose it needs when dietary carbohydrates aren’t available.
That doesn’t mean carbs are the enemy.
Fruit.
Vegetables.
Legumes.
Whole grains.
These can all have a place in a healthy diet.
The real issue is that most people aren’t eating those.
They’re eating refined, ultra-processed carbohydrates that our bodies were never designed to consume in such quantities.
Know the difference.
God often plants the seeds of your calling in childhood.
The things that came naturally.
The problems you loved solving.
The people you were drawn to.
The curiosity you couldn’t ignore.
Not every childhood interest becomes a career.
But many of them become clues.
Sometimes purpose isn’t found by looking ahead.
Sometimes it’s discovered by remembering what has always been true about you.
You don’t exercise because you want to look younger.
You exercise because you want to become older.
Every workout is a deposit into your future.
You’re not just building muscle.
You’re building the strength to carry your grandchildren.
The balance to avoid a fall.
The heart that keeps beating for the people you love.
The independence to keep living life on your terms.
Exercise isn’t about adding years to your life. It’s about adding life to your years.
The best time to start was years ago.
The second best time is today.
The biggest health misinformation machine in history fits in your pocket.
Every day someone is telling you:
“This food is toxic.”
“This supplement changes everything.”
“Doctors don’t want you to know this.”
Some are right.
Many aren’t.
The algorithm doesn’t reward accuracy. It rewards attention.
Don’t confuse views with credibility.
Question everything.
Follow the evidence.
And remember:
The most boring advice is usually the advice backed by the strongest science.
Sleep.
Move.
Eat real food.
Manage stress.
The fundamentals still win.
If God has prepared good works for your life...
Shouldn’t you prepare your body to do them?
“For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works...” (Ephesians 2:10)
Too many of us pray for purpose while neglecting the very body that has to live it out.
Your calling requires energy.
Presence.
Strength.
Resilience.
The people God has called you to love deserve the healthiest version of you.
Looking after your body isn’t about living longer just for yourself.
It’s about serving longer.
Loving better.
Finishing your race well.
Your health is part of your stewardship.
Connection happens when we intentionally make space for it.
The strongest relationships are usually built in the smallest repeated moments.
The coffee.
The walk.
The dinner.
The conversation.
Not once.
Again and again.
Because what we create rhythms for…we create room for.

The most underrated performance tool isn’t a new app. It isn’t a supplement. It isn’t another productivity hack.
It’s sleep.
The thing most of us sacrifice first is often the thing that determines how well everything else works.
Your energy.
Your mood.
Your discipline.
Your relationships.
Your health.
