When I was growing up, Artificial Intelligence existed only in the realm of Science Fiction. Recently, in the blink of an eye, Artificial Intelligence (AI) is everywhere! And not just for super secret government agencies and Mad Scientists ™, but interacting with, and affecting, all of us on a daily basis. AI machines are even available for hire!
In this presentation, Brendon Hatcher will cover:
The kinds of AI systems currently in use
How AI systems learn
Demonstrations of AI systems that everyone has access to
The possibilities, challenges and threats to humanity posed by AI
How to think about your relationship with AI systems

As a non-profit, we seek to make our courses affordable and accessible. However, “affordable” is a relative term, and our usual pricing is not always appropriate for everyone. For selected courses from participating lecturers, we use a donations model. Book online, or by phone, so that we know you are coming, and make an anonymous cash donation at the venue.
