We might wish we could speak things into existence as God can, or be everywhere all at once as He is. Our finiteness might frustrate us at times, but we can still imitate Him in all the ways that matter. We can love truth, be faithful, and choose to control ourselves. We can show mercy, be gracious and extend compassion. We can, with His help, reflect His character and be a light to others.

Seven talented young violinists from DGC recently travelled to Johannesburg to participate in the inspiring Violin Vibes Suzuki Concert. This event brought together students and teachers from Durban, Pietermaritzburg, Johannesburg, and Pretoria in a celebration of music and collaboration.

The concert programme featured repertoire ranging from Suzuki Book 1 to Book 4, with every piece performed entirely from memory. Through countless hours of practice, our DGC musicians mastered between 12 and 14 pieces each in preparation for this occasion.

Performing as part of a large ensemble created an exciting musical experience, with the beauty of the combined violin sound inspiring both performers and audience members alike. The highlight of the concert was the spectacular Twinkle Finale, performed by 120 young violinists on stage together.

We are immensely proud of our girls for embracing this opportunity with such commitment, confidence, and enthusiasm. Bravo to these young musicians for representing DGC so beautifully!
