August Kids Cooking Club is here!
There's so much more to cooking than creating delicious treats! Every recipe is an opportunity to build confidence, independence and lifelong skills.
Through measuring, mixing, chopping, tasting and creating, our young chefs develop:
* Life skills and independence
* Problem-solving and critical thinking
* Teamwork and communication
* Fine motor skills and coordination
* Patience, perseverance and following instructions
* Creativity and confidence
At Cooking Club, we celebrate process over perfection. We encourage kids and teens to explore, make mistakes, learn new skills and, most importantly, have fun in the kitchen! The smiles, laughter and proud moments are our favourite ingredients.
We can't wait to cook up another month of delicious adventures together!
Note: Our Barista Training Course with Wade's is still underway for those signed up!

We believe that some of life's most valuable lessons happen beyond the classroom.
At Barnsley EduCentre, we are passionate about creating opportunities for our learners to discover their strengths, build confidence, and develop practical vocational skills that prepare them for life beyond school.
We are incredibly grateful to have partnered with Wade's Coffee Food Truck on Bulwer Road, Glenwood, where Wade is generously sharing his knowledge and experience in barista training and food truck entrepreneurship with our interested Senior and FET learners.
These hands-on experiences are about so much more than making great coffee, they're about developing independence, learning responsibility, building communication skills, embracing teamwork, and discovering that every learner has unique talents to offer the world.
A very special well done to Che' Riekert, whose enthusiasm, dedication, and willingness to learn have been an absolute joy to watch. Your positive attitude is inspiring, and we are so proud of the way you continue to grow with every new opportunity. Keep shining, Che', the future is full of possibilities! ✨
A heartfelt thank you to Wade for investing in our learners and helping us open doors to meaningful skills, future employment opportunities, and entrepreneurship. Community partnerships like these truly make a lasting difference.
Together, we're building confidence, creating opportunities, and empowering young people to thrive. ☕🌟

Are You Ready for Term 3?
As we prepare to welcome our learners back for Term 3, we know that a calm, organised evening can make all the difference to a successful first day back at school.
Here are a few simple ways to help your child feel confident, prepared, and ready to learn:
The Night Before
1. Pack the school bag and check that all books, homework, stationery, and any forms are ready to go.
2. Lay out the school uniform, shoes, and socks to avoid a rushed morning.
3. Prepare lunch and snacks as much as possible the evening before.
4. Check the timetable so your child knows what to expect.
5. Talk positively about school. Ask what they are looking forward to and reassure them if they are feeling a little nervous.
6. Read a story together or spend a few quiet minutes reading before bed. This helps children settle and gets their brains ready for learning.
7. Limit screen time before bedtime. Instead, enjoy a board game, colouring, conversation, or reading together.
8. Aim for an early bedtime. A well-rested brain is better able to concentrate, regulate emotions, remember new information, and enjoy learning.
The Morning
1. Wake up with enough time for a relaxed routine.
2. Enjoy a healthy breakfast and drink plenty of water.
3. Offer plenty of encouragement, a smile, and a hug (children often borrow our confidence).
Remember, every new term is a fresh opportunity for growth. Some children will return excited, while others may need a little extra reassurance. With patience, consistency, and encouragement, they'll soon settle back into their routines.
From all of us at Barnsley EduCentre, we wish every learner and family a wonderful, successful, and joy-filled Term 3. We can't wait to see all of our amazing learners again!
