Sanbona! From Johannesburg to Durban, these past two weeks in South Africa have been action-packed!

In Johannesburg, we visited the Apartheid Museum, traveled to Soweto to the Hector Pieterson Museum, and visited one of Nelson Mandela’s houses! We also got a chance to see the Constitutional Court, the Nelson Mandela Foundation, and SAIIA.

After a long drive, we finally arrived in Durban! We started our classes, visited the Phansi museum, the Moses Mabhida Stadium, the Nelson Mandela capture site, the KwaMuhle museum, Warwick Junction, the botanic garden (where we saw the lonliest man in the world!) and traveled to South Coast to hilke and relax in the sun!

Its been a crazy two weeks of immerision, exposure, and fun. Check back in to see what else we get up to this semester!

The rest of us weren’t quite ready to say goodbye to sunny Durban and chose to remain there for ISP. We are so grateful for the community, beauty, and opportunity this month brought us!

For the ISP period, five of us headed to Cape Town!!
We had such an amazing experience from hiking to the beach to First Thursday and rugby. We also took a day trip to the Cape of Good Hope and Boulder Beach to see the penguins!
