Grease trap effluent. Expired stock. Contaminated food. Animal by-products. Bakery waste.
Yes, we take all of it.
Our materials recovery facilities process a wide range of food and organic waste β and our goal is simple: divert as much as possible from landfill and redirect it into something useful.
Not sure if we can take yours? Ask us. π

Food waste to landfill is on borrowed time.
South Africa's Draft National Waste Management Strategy 2026 has put organic waste on the national priority list for the first time.
Oricol's composting facility near Verulam, KwaZulu-Natal, was built for exactly this moment.
Don't wait for regulation to catch your business off guard.

Did you know that over 100,000 tonnes of food waste is processed by Oricol every year? π
Instead of ending up in landfill, that waste is transformed into something valuable β including feed for South African farm animals.
Here's how we close the loop:
π We collect food and organic waste from food manufacturers, restaurants, retailers and hospitality businesses.
βοΈ Packaged waste is mechanically depackaged. The packaging goes to recycling. The organic content gets a second life.
π Suitable recovered food material is dried, processed and turned into a registered, nutritious animal feed supplement β available to smallholder farmers and large beef and dairy farms.
π± Other organic residuals become rich compost and organic fertilisers that go back into South African soils.
π And every step is tracked β so our clients always know exactly how much waste they've diverted.
This is the circular economy in action. Not as a buzzword. As a system that actually works.
If your business generates food or organic waste, let's talk. π
