Ocean View Montessori School

Today in our Young Engineers lesson, we became boat designers and explored why some objects float while others sink! ⛵🌊The students built their own sailboats and tested them in water while learning about Archimedes’ discovery that objects float by pushing water out of the way. They also investigated how adding weight affects a boat’s ability to stay afloat through fun hands-on experiments. It was wonderful to see their creativity, problem-solving skills, and excitement as they tested and improved their floating designs! 🚢💡 ❤️

Maths concepts are so hard to grasp in workbooks! The Montessori maths materials give children a sensory motor understanding of the processes of maths. Through manipulating the activities they integrate their experiences and consolidate the concepts. These experiences stay with them as they move onto paper based work. They ‘get it’ and what is more they love it! ❤️

Some glimpses of our Mother’s day celebrations at Ocean View today. From the red carpet moments, to crafting, chatting and spending time with friends and family, we loved celebrating love and motherhood together in our school community. ❤️

Occupations Day Dress up was a busy event for these two little firefighters!! They were on call! Serving a medical team, sportsmen, chefs, airline crew, building team, astronauts, builders and pop stars ❤️
