Abu Huraira narrated that the Prophet (ﷺ) said:

"On the Day of a group of will come to me, but will be driven away from the Lake-Fount, and I will say, 'O Lord (those are) my companions!' It will be said, 'You have no knowledge as to what they innovated after you left; they turned as renegades (reverted from Islam).

وَقَالَ أَحْمَدُ بْنُ شَبِيبِ بْنِ سَعِيدٍ الْحَبَطِيُّ حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي، عَنْ يُونُسَ، عَنِ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ الْمُسَيَّبِ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، أَنَّهُ كَانَ يُحَدِّثُ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم قَالَ ‏ "‏ يَرِدُ عَلَىَّ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ رَهْطٌ مِنْ أَصْحَابِي فَيُحَلَّئُونَ عَنِ الْحَوْضِ فَأَقُولُ يَا رَبِّ أَصْحَابِي‏.‏ فَيَقُولُ إِنَّكَ لاَ عِلْمَ لَكَ بِمَا أَحْدَثُوا بَعْدَكَ، إِنَّهُمُ ارْتَدُّوا عَلَى أَدْبَارِهِمُ الْقَهْقَرَى ‏"‏‏.‏

This is My Eid gift to all my Muslim Brothers and Sisters.

The begining of religiuos secterianism in Islam.

The 1st sunni sect was formed by Numan bin Thabet aka Abu Hanifa and he called it Ahle Sunnah al Jama' now known as the Hanifi sect or school thereafter followed other sunni sects including Maliki, Shafii and Hanbali.

Numan bin Thabit aka Abu Hanifa was born 110 Hijra.

My question 'which sunni sect or school existed prior to Abu Hanifa'???

Answer: NONE!!!!!

The only school that existed from the time of Rasulallah (sawas) till the Hanifi school was the school of Madina al Munawara where the Holy Prophet taught from, after Rasulallah, Imam Ali bin Abu Talib after him Imam al Hasan after him Imam al Hussein after him Imam Ali ibne Hussein Zeinul Abedin after him Imam Muhammad ibne Ali al Baqir after him Imam Ja'far bin Muhammad Al Sadiq. During the time of Imam Ja'far Al Sadiq one of his students Abu Hanifa with the sponsorship of the Abbasid state formed the 1st sect or school in Islam and division of the religion began. Prior to this the division was political but now due to the Abbassids with the aid of Numan bin Thabit the division took the religious sectarian route.

Isn't it scary how they say "Hell fire is for those who create sects in Islam"...... then you learn, thats you.
