Would be very cool to see some more parents stretching their legs before the sun comes up. No judgies. Just saying. π

π π π Mission Briefing: Maris Stella.
Former NASA astronaut Dorothy "Dottie" Metcalf-Lindenburger is heading to Durban as part of the Living Maths Space Tour 2026, and Maris Stella is proud to be one of the host venues.
A former science teacher turned astronaut, Dottie has orbited Earth 238 times, worked aboard the International Space Station, led underwater exploration missions, and inspired learners around the world through her passion for STEM education.
Now she's bringing those stories, lessons and experiences to Durban. And for our Maris Stella community, this is more than an event. It's a chance to meet someone who looked up at the stars and decided to go there. Imagine the possibilities for your daughter!

While some milestones are measured in trophies, certificates or school achievements, others are a little more personal. π
So today, we are celebrating two beautiful moments of faith in our Maris Stella family. Congratulations to young Khwezi Mtshubungu, who received her First Holy Communion this past weekend at Our Lady of Lourdes Parish, and to our Head Girl, Mandisa Nzama, who recently received the Sacrament of Confirmation.
Confirmation is a particularly special step, as it marks the moment a young person chooses to embrace and continue the faith journey that began at Baptism. We celebrate with you Mandisa and pray that you continues to be guided by faith and courage, love and kindness. π
We are so proud to share in these special moments with both you and your families.
Thank you for being a part of the Maris Stella journey.

Congratulations to our dynamic duo - Zeze and Em! Whether they're charging down the astro, making magic happen in the team huddle, or delivering one of those passes that leaves everyone wondering, "How did she even see that?", these two sure know how to lead from the front.
You girls continue to shine, and your team are proud of you!
Let's hit the upcoming season straight into the goals.

So they say the hard work happens when no one is watching, but this weekend all eyes were on the Malgas sisters! πββοΈ ππ½ββοΈ π΄ββοΈ And what a super-duper-impressively busy weekend it was.
At the KZN Biathle, Triathle & Laser Run Championships, Kairo placed 1οΈβ£ in the U11 Biathle category and qualified to represent KZN at the South African Championships, finishing in 5:04.94 against a qualifying time of 5:20.
Kenya also qualified to represent KZN at the South African Championships in the U15 Biathle category, finishing in 8:53.25 against a qualifying time of 9:10. Too good!
As if that wasn't enough, Kenya won gold π₯ at the KZN Diving Trials, and both girls qualified for the KZN Cross Country Trials.
So we kinda had to excuse them from early morning Cross Country today!
After allllllll that... we think maybe they deserved the lie in.
We are so proud of you two! Keep loving what you do, girls, and we'll keep supporting you. β¨

π’π One coin at a time...
As a fundraising initiative for The Litterboom Project, we asked our Senior Primary girls to bring some small change from home and place it on the sticky turtle on our school driveway. One coin at a time, they created a giant money chain to help raise funds for the amazing Litterboom Project.
The Litterboom Project helps stop plastic and rubbish from reaching our oceans by collecting it from rivers before it can cause harm to marine life. π β»οΈ Check out their website here to see all the amazing work they are doing... https://www.thelitterboomproject.com/
It was so special to see everyone adding their coins and working together to create a bigger picture. That's the message we want our girls to take from this... small change, big difference. No matter our size or contribution, we all have a role to play in caring for our environment and its future.
