Coastal KZN TVET College successfully hosted the 2026 Constitution Review and Leadership Workshop from 11–13 June 2026 at the CKZN Occupational Skills Training & Trade Testing Centre in Hammarsdale.
The workshop brought together student leaders and key stakeholders to review and strengthen the Student Representative Council (SRC) Constitution, while enhancing leadership capacity, governance, accountability, and effective representation. Through collaborative discussions and strategic planning sessions, participants contributed valuable insights aimed at fostering transparent, inclusive, and effective student leadership across the College.
The workshop reaffirmed the College's commitment to developing ethical, responsible, and visionary leaders who will positively impact both the institution and their communities.

Swinton Campus proudly hosted an Awards Ceremony to recognise and celebrate the outstanding academic achievements of our NCV and NATED students in Engineering, Hospitality, Tourism, and Educare.

On 29 May 2026, the Corporate Services Department hosted a Waste Management & Minimization Workshop for staff members at the Durban Campus Main Hall. The workshop was facilitated by DSW and aimed to promote environmental awareness, responsible waste management practices, and waste reduction strategies within the College.
The session provided valuable insights on waste minimization, recycling, and sustainable workplace practices, empowering staff to contribute towards creating a cleaner and more environmentally responsible institution.

The ICASS Capacity-Building Session currently underway at the Durban Campus is bringing together education practitioners and stakeholders to strengthen assessment practices and improve quality assurance processes. The session reflects on the Internal Continuous Assessment (ICASS), Practical Assessment Task (PAT) and Integrated Summative Assessment Task (ISAT) findings from the November 2025 examinations, while unpacking key directives for improvement and enhanced compliance.
The engagement also aims to raise awareness about potential challenges that may arise during the conduct and administration of ICASS, PAT and ISAT to ensure that past mistakes are not repeated. Through collaboration and the sharing of best practices, participants are being empowered with improved strategies and practical techniques that will contribute towards more effective and efficient assessment practices at their respective institutions.

Team spirit, wellness and unity took centre stage at the Coastal KZN TVET College Staff Sports Day held at Hoy Park on 15 May 2026. Staff members came together for a fun-filled day of teamwork, fitness and friendly competition through exciting activities including Aerobics, Soccer, Tug of War, Jerusalem Challenge, Umlabalaba, Chess, Casino and Inqathu. The event created an opportunity for colleagues to strengthen relationships, promote healthy living and celebrate the vibrant spirit of the College community.

The W&RSETA Board of Directors conducted an oversight and monitoring visit at the Samsung Engineering Academy, where Board members, College Management, and Council members engaged in meaningful discussions focused on addressing challenges, exploring opportunities, and sharing recommendations to strengthen skills development initiatives.
The visit also included a tour of the training facilities and learning sites, providing the delegation with firsthand insight into the learning environment and student experiences. The team further engaged with W&RSETA-funded students, highlighting the impact of entrepreneurship in empowering and equipping young people for the future.
