a=amplitude.
k affects the period, for sin and cos 360/k, for tan its 180/k= period.
b tells you about a horizontal shift.
q tells you about the vertical shift of the graph.

Sin²x-Cos²x is not equal to Cos2x.
But we can find a common factor.
-(Cos²x-Sin²x)= -(Cos2x)✓
Next
2Sin²x-1 is not equal to Cos2x
Unless you put the negative as a common factor.
-(1-2Sin²x)=-(Cos2x)✓

Prove the ff identity.
1/1-sinx + 1/1+sinx = 2/Cos^2x

Start by cross multiplying if you are adding two fractions then multiply denominators if they are not the same.

LHS
1/1-sinx + 1/1+sinx
= (1+Sinx + 1-Sinx)/1-Sin^2x
=2/Cos^2x.
