Creating a great product or service is only part of building a successful business. If people don't understand the value you offer, they are unlikely to become your customers.
During Session 10 of the 2026 MANCOSA Business Incubator, participants explored how marketing and branding work together to connect businesses with the people they are designed to serve.
Entrepreneurs were encouraged to think beyond logos and social media, and instead focus on communicating a clear value proposition, understanding their audience, and building meaningful connections with potential customers. The session challenged participants to consider not only what they are offering, but why customers should choose them.
One of the key insights from the session was that strong brands are built through consistency, authenticity, and a clear understanding of the value they create.
As participants continue developing their ventures, they are learning that the businesses which stand out are not always those with the biggest budgets-but those with the clearest message.

Quality isn't measured by compliance,it's measured by the futures it shapes.
This powerful message set the tone as Professor David Strydom's keynote challenged higher education leaders to rethink quality as a responsibility, not a regulatory exercise. He highlighted the importance of building institutions that don't simply produce graduates, but develop ethical leaders, innovators and problem-solvers equipped to respond to society's evolving needs.
The conversation continued with an engaging panel discussion, where leaders explored the role of higher education in amplifying student voices, embracing AI and lifelong learning, strengthening collaboration across the sector, and ensuring education remains responsive in an ever-changing world.
While perspectives differed, one shared conviction emerged: the future of higher education lies in its ability to adapt, innovate and work collectively to create opportunities that extend far beyond the classroom.
