A School With A Legacy

The house on the corner of Silverton and Essenwood Roads was purchased at the beginning of 1976.

We were registered as a pre-primary school and officially opened by the Natal Director of Education, Dr. G. A. Hosking on 24th May 1977. Our school is named JOYCE BROADHEAD PRE-PRIMARY after our founder Mrs. Joyce Broadhead who devoted many years service to the children of the Berea.

Over the years our school has grown and upgraded facilities. We presently have 6 groups of children ranging in age from 2 years to 6 years. Our pupils feed into many independent (private) schools and former Model C State Schools.
