🥋 At the Karate Competition – Best of the Best held last Saturday, Mr. Phama showcased incredible skill and determination, securing 1st place in the under 55kg category.

This victory is a shining example of the excellence, discipline, and spirit our students bring to sport. 🌟

🌟 Today we had the privilege of hearing how project-based learning has transformed the journey of one of our Sport Studies students.

From learning to swim 🏊‍♂️ to sailing and dragon boating 🚣‍♀️, the program has built confidence, skills, and unforgettable experiences. And now—he’s turning this growth into a career pathway for himself.

Making Waves Through Innovation 🌊
We’re proud to share that the Sport Studies Department has been featured in the DUT Connect Magazine (Summer 2025/2026) with the article “Waves Through Innovation.”

The piece highlights our Project-Based Learning (PBL) initiative, spanning three modules, designed to integrate student knowledge with practical skills.

completed his ND in Sport Management in 2016 and B-tech in Management specialising in sport in 2017. His journey started where he spent 5 years developing his skill as a radio presenter. In 2020 join hosting a weekly sport show that highlighted local and provincial sport stories. Currently he is a sport journalist for KZN’s leading regional station

Congratulations 🥳 🙌🏼 to all students that assisted in running CFEDC Elderly Ladies Wellness and Soccer programs.

The aim of the program is to bring elderly women together from eThekwini municipality to engage in structured physical activity, wellness workshops and soccer friendly matches. The programs runs the whole year, without the help our students the program wouldn’t have be a great success.

Student duties during the season of the elderly league is to organise fixtures, officiate games, admin verification and warming elderly athletes.

Thanks to for providing our students such a great opportunity.
