At the beginning of our Plants & Flowers thematic unit, our preschool learners planted beans and methi seeds in class! 🫘🌿

And what magic happened next... ✨

Day by day, little sprouts started to peek out! 👀

What a beautiful and exciting observation for our Little Minds - seeing the wonders of nature happen right before their eyes! 💚

🌱🔬 Life Skills: Beginning Knowledge🔬🌱

In Life Skills, our Preschoolers are taught Beginning Knowledge - the science of our theme! It's how we help our Little People make sense of the world around them. 🌍✨

And last week, our learners were true little scientists!

🌿 Non Readiness - Stages of Plant Growth
Our learners explored how a tiny seed becomes a beautiful plant! 🌱➡️🌿➡️🌸
From seed... to sprout... to plant! They spoke about what happens first, next and last. Real science in action!

✏️ Grade R - Draw and Label a Plant
Our Grade R superstars learnt to draw and correctly label a plant - roots, stem, leaves and flower! 🌸 So much focus, vocabulary and early science + writing all in one activity.

So proud of how they are thinking, questioning and explaining their world! 💚

Last week was all about getting creative with Plants and Flowers, and our Little People did not disappoint! Look at what went home! 😍

🧺 Nursery - Flower Baskets
Our littlest learners made the sweetest flower baskets - full of colour and pride! Perfect fine motor and colour fun.

🌷 Non-Readiness - Springy Flower Gardens
Beautiful gardens with bouncy, springy stems that pop right out! So much joy while learning about parts of a flower and eye-hand coordination.

📖 Grade R - "How to Grow a Plant" Flipbooks
Our big kids became authors! ✏️ They created their own flipbooks explaining how to grow a plant - and wrote their OWN captions too! Early science + early literacy in action. 🌱➡️🌸

Excellent work by ALL our Little People! We are so proud! ✨

Learning is beautiful when you grow it yourself. 💚

🌸 Flower Prints from Cooldrink Bottles! 🌸

Look at this clever trick! 👀

Our Non Readiness learners turned the bottom of cooldrink bottles into FLOWER stamps! 🍾➡️🌼

Dip in paint, press on paper - and WOW - a perfect flower appears! 😍

Why we love this activity:

🌼 Shape Discovery: "Teacher, it looks like a flower!" - learning to see shapes in everyday objects
🤏 Fine Motor: Gripping, dipping and pressing builds strong little hands for writing ✏️

Who needs a paintbrush when you have bottle caps? ♻️🎨

Our Grade R learners dipped caps in bright paint and stamped beautiful flower prints! 🌼

Simple, fun, and SO much learning inside:

🤏 Fine Motor Magic: Pinching that little cap = strong fingers for writing later
🎨 Colour & Pattern: Mixing colours, making circles, creating petals around a centre - early maths!
♻️ Recycle & Create: Old bottle caps become art tools - we love reusing!
✨ Creativity & Confidence: "I made a flower all by myself!"
👀 Eye-Hand Coordination: Dip, aim, press - focus in action

🍃🎨 *Leaf Painting Fun with our Nursery Learners!* 🎨🍃

In keeping with our Plants & Flowers Thematic Unit, last week our little artists traded paint brushes for NATURE! 🌿

We dipped real leaves in paint and pressed, stamped and created beautiful prints!

So much joy, so much learning hidden inside:

🖐️ Sensory Play: Feeling the bumpy veins, the smooth paint, the crunchy leaf
🤏 Fine Motor: Pinching the stem = perfect pencil grip practice
🎨 Colour & Creativity: Mixing colours, seeing prints appear - "Wow, look what I made!"
🌱 Nature Connection: Leaves aren't just on trees - we can create with them.

Messy hands = Busy brains! 🧠✨

To us, it looks like fun. To them, it's discovery.

🌿 Montessori Botany Puzzles 🧩

Look like simple wooden puzzles, but so clever!

Our learners take out the pieces - leaf 🍃, tree 🌳, flower 🌸 - and match them back in.

Why we love them:

🤏 Little hands, big work: The small k**b builds the 3-finger pencil grip for writing
