Our Civvies Day (Pyjama Day) fundraising event was a great success! 💤✨

Learners and staff came together in their comfortable pyjamas while supporting the Grade 12 matric dance fundraising initiative. The day was filled with fun, school spirit, and strong community support, with delicious cakes being sold and enjoyed throughout the day. 🧁

The Matrics would like to extend their sincere appreciation to everyone who contributed towards making the fundraiser a success. The school also thanks all learners for participating enthusiastically, and we are truly grateful to every parent who continues to support their children in taking part in school initiatives and fundraising efforts.

Events like these remind us of the strength of our school community, and we encourage all learners and parents to continue showing up and supporting future activities.

Today we observe Ascension Day, a day recognised by many Christian communities around the world, marking the ascension of Jesus Christ into heaven following His resurrection. ✝️

As a diverse school community with learners from different religious and cultural backgrounds, we acknowledge this day with respect and encourage a spirit of reflection, kindness, and unity in our shared space.

May today serve as a reminder of values such as hope, compassion, and respect for one another as we continue to learn and grow together.

Last week Friday, while our school hosted a busy day filled with a Grade 12 matric dance fundraiser themed around a Pyjama Day, as well as a career talk for our matric learners, our Top 10 learners were also invited to a special Principal’s Luncheon held in our library, which is currently still being revamped. 📚✨

The gathering was not only a celebration of academic excellence, but also an opportunity to encourage our learners to continue striving for greatness. Mr. Zungu congratulated the learners on their hard work and reminded them that consistency, discipline and determination are what set high achievers apart.

As our library continues to transform into a better learning space for all, it was fitting to see it already being used to inspire excellence, meaningful conversations and future success. We are proud of our Top 10 learners and look forward to seeing them continue to raise the standard at Durban Academy. 👏
