A creche is one of the most important social services necessary for all communities. Previously creches were known as places of care and safety, however, they also perform an additional educational intervention. The first 1000 days of a child's life is when critical foundations are set: socially, emotionally, cognitively and physically. Qualified and trained ECD Practitioners are required to instill emergent Literacy, Mathematics and Life Skills foundations in children aged birth to four: to set them up for success in formal schooling later. Getting an ECD qualification enables you to work in a creche, open your own creche, or work overseas in an early education facility.
