STATEMENT:
RE:VUMA FM TERMINATION OF JACINTA’S CONTRACT
20 July 2025

We have learned that one of us in Jacinta Zinhle MaNgobese Zuma has announced the termination of her contract in a dubious manner by her employer Vuma FM

Whilst Jacinta has confirmed that this surprising termination is allegedly linked with an external undue pressure associated with her other work and stance she has believed in as a social movement, if this proven true, the act of the employer seem not being in line with employment fairness and a respect for human rights!

Whilst we appreciate that the relationship of employment is always between the employer and the employee, however we note that under normal circumstances this radio station renews contracts during the month of June annually, and that which by law they would give a notice to all those affected in a month prior such broadcast line up changes. This is indeed the right of the station to do so. However, it is surprising that Jacinta was allowed to go on leave and no such utterances of a desire to cut her contract were indicated by the employer up until this surprise!

As an organization formed at the bedrock of promoting sustainable development where we also advocate for gender equality and other human rights, we would like to challenge the station to set the record straight in giving the public and Jacinta the assurance of no foul play in her termination and their due processes.

Otherwise, this action may be perceived as the punishment of those who are standing for truth in South Africa and this can be interpreted by public as lead to personal destroyal by those in power.

Be that as it may, your truth and your courage is being noticed Jacinta and as normal South Africans, we are believing in your course and will support you all the way.

It is also our belief that this can be a sign for a bigger movement ahead of your career. Maybe a time to refocus, perfect timing to redesign your next move as you have done amazingly well in community development and we are all witnesses to your truth.

On behalf of all our directors, board and stakeholders, we are praying for you and your family at this trying tides and also give you our blessing to continue serving the people of South Africa with your courage and Godly ideas!
