We have officially concluded our school visits for this academic year.
Last week we handed over certificates of participation and prizes to all learners that have been part of this amazing programme.
2021 was one of those challenging years, however through dedication and commitment, we made it through. This would've not been achieved without the amount of energy invested by all parties involved.
We wish to send our words of appreciation for the consistency that was shown by learners of all three schools i.e. Bonela Secondary School Umkhumbane Secondary School and Wiggins Secondary School
To all our mentors, the real work has just began. We shall continue working tirelessly to make sure that 2022 becomes even better.

From Negative Spaces to Positive Spaces. Level Six EduMove Inspires Greatness‼️
We have finally concluded with model making, the first component of Level Six EduMove Mentorship Programme.
Over the past few weeks, we hosted a showcasing event where a total of 14 models were displayed. The design behind these models came after tasking learners to identify negative spaces that can be transformed into positive spaces, with the aim of improving school facilities.
This task aimed at improving learners creative thinking while enhancing public speaking skills as they had to present their ideas to the judges of the day.
The event was a true reflection of the amount of work and dedication that has been invested to the project entirely.
We wish to congratulate all our winners and everyone who participated. Special thanks to our mentors for their consistent support.

In one of his teachings, Dane Carnegie give emphasis on the importance of persistence when working on achieving greater heights.
This has been one of the driving forces that have kept us going for this long, the journey have been overwhelming given the amount of dedication portrayed by all our learners. Now that we're almost done with physical modelling, the next step is to teach these young creatives how to pitch their ideas.
We appreciate the level of support that we have been receiving from our Mentors.

Level Six EduMove continues to strive for excellence.
Last week brought another blissful events where Mentors worked hands in gloves with Learners to guide them through a process of physical modelling.
These physical models facilitate the development of visual-based, “hands on” knowledge of the environment and problem being investigated.
This advantage can be particularly important when dealing with complex dynamics, they also help learners to recognise and develop their main architectural idea from concept to detail. They serve as physical evidence of a learners thought process and development.
We wish to give thanks to all parties that have been supportive to this initiative i.e Community Engagement at DUT ; The Umkhumbane Schools Project ; Learners Across All Three Schools ( Bonela Secondary School ; Wiggins Secondary School ; Umkhumbane Secondary School ) and Our dedicated Mentors.

After having to work tirelessly in modifying learners drawings.
Finally😀, we have managed to start with the introduction of architectural modelling, a physical representation of a structure - built to study aspects of an architectural design or to communicate design ideas. During this activity, learners were taught how to turn their computerised designs into physical models.
We are humbled by the interest and enthusiasm portrayed by all learners during this critical process. This is by far the most interactive sessions we've ever had.
The amount of growth we've seen in collaborative work is unmeasured - a true reflection of success.
We wish to give thanks to all our Partners; Mentors and Learners who have been part of our journey.

Closing Women's Month on a High Note‼️
Today we hosted a Women's Month Commemoration Program under the theme "Women in Science".
We had a number of esteemed professionals whose presence gave hope and light. This was after they shared their individual experience about the journey of becoming a successful female professional in a male dominated field.
Encouraging female learners, our speakers spoke truth to power when they highlighted the importance of adopting a "can do attitude", while refusing to allow your poor background to determine your future.
We wish to give thanks to everyone who contributed towards making this program a success. From our Partners; Mentors to Learners.
