*Theme:* From Ubuntu to BRICS: African Youth Driving Agenda 2063

Hosted by the BRICS Student Commission, this African Month Public Lecture brings together scholars, young leaders and progressive voices to engage in meaningful dialogue on the role of African youth in shaping the continentโ€™s future through the values of Ubuntu and the strategic opportunities presented by BRICS.

This public lecture seeks to explore how Africaโ€™s youth can become active drivers of Agenda 2063 by advancing leadership, innovation, solidarity, policy engagement and sustainable development across the continent and beyond.

Join us as we reflect on African agency, youth empowerment, regional cooperation and the importance of positioning young people at the centre of Africaโ€™s developmental and global agenda.

This webinar seeks to challenge traditional narratives that position Africa merely as an object of study, while advancing conversations that recognise the continent as a powerful producer of knowledge, innovation, philosophy and transformative thought.

Join us as we reflect on decoloniality, African scholarship, indigenous knowledge systems and the importance of reclaiming African voices within academic and institutional spaces.

The BRICS Student Commission KwaZulu-Natal Region in partnership with the Moses Kotane Research Institute proudly invites you to a Future-Oriented Career Expo taking place on the 19th to the 20th of May 2026 at 08:00 in UMkhanyakude, Sisizakele Special School (Siweni).

Held under the theme, โ€œEmpowering Youth From Rural Areas Through Access to Critical & Scarce Skills Development Opportunities,โ€ the expo is intentionally designed to serve high school learners from Grades 9 to 12, equipping them at a crucial stage of subject and career decision-making. The platform also actively engages teachers and educators, higher education and TVET institutions, public and private sector representatives.
